  • CORRECTION! The sander is a Surfprep, not Festool - Said it wrong!
How to sand primer on cabinets to get that perfect top coat!
Sand flat with Surfprep film abrasive 320 grit
Smooth out with very fine foam abrasive
Goldflex Mirka sanding pads 320 grit for hand sanding
Clean out between frame and panel with small pick.
Envirolak primer 2 coats - top coated with Milesi waterborne poly

I just painted my first set of bathroom cabinets. Looking to do more this year. Thinking of buying the surf prep electric ray kit. I could do several kitchens per year. I do like to hang the doors like you are. I enjoy your content you make good videos for painters.

The small details you talk about make your videos stand out above others that always seem to lack some important piece of info. Would love to see more videos from you. Thanks! Especially using 2k primers and top coats. I would like to try that on my next job but it makes me pretty queasy never having done it and with no one to learn from.

Thanks for the video, I found it quite helpful. I have two questions for you: 1) could you have used an orbital sander instead of that sheet sender? 2} will you please provide a link to your favorite sanding pads?

Yes you could use an orbital sander. I have one that I use on larger panels. But the orbital sander is a bit more aggressive and you need to be careful with it to not burn through your primer, especially on the rails and styles of doors. Also, because of the rounded pad, you can't get into the corners like you can with a square pad. If you use a good primer you should only have to lightly sand so that's why I like the small 3 x 4. I buy my pads from Timberlane Finishing Solutions in OH.
      Hope that helps!

This feels like it was filmed with shaky cam.
