I spoke with an old man once. He was around 50+yo, He had a battle vest with Patches like Agathocles, Doom, Disclose on it. I never saw him before in any local shows, He watched our band perform, we played stoner/sludge at the time. As i was talked to this oldman after the gig, i complimented him saying "you listen to sludge too huh? That's sick!" What he replied to me made a whole lot of sense, He said "Brother, Sludge is Grindcore in Slow motion". Respects to him. Here where i am from, there are so many purists in the HCPunk scene as with most underground community elsewhere. Many refuse to invite newer bands to their events instead just keeping the band list the same gig after gig. This oldman understood the connection of this obscene culture deeper than anyone i ever met. I learned a lot from that simple reply from him, not sure if this was already general knowledge to all of you reading this comment, but to me that was one of the most eye opening conversations i ever had. Wherever you are oldman, Thank you.
