  • 👋 Hello, today we are going to go see the snow monkey in Jigokudani Monkey Park in Nagano. We got lucky and came the day after a snow storm and it was beautiful. The trees were covered in snow and it was like a winter wonderland hiking up to the onsen (hot spring). There were many monkeys at the osen. Some of them look like they were soaking in the osen like humans 🙊, others were grooming each other, and some were very funny lol. We took lots of photos of the monkeys as they were bathing in the onsen which we will share in a future video soon! So subscribe and like for more videos 😊 Enjoy this peaceful and relaxing video walk to Jigokudani Yaen Koen.

Would regular shoes (ie trainers) be enough to walk the trail?

Yes, we had regular running shoes. But some parts of the trail were slippery, so we had to be extra careful. Ideally, you would want to wear snow boots or shoe spikes.
