What I believe is there is a lot of pressure on Shahrukh to pull off a 200 / 300 Cr blockbuster. Thus the reason they go to scale the movie up.. If the movie was based only out of meerut or Mumbai...The Movie would have turned out great but wouldn't have been able to turn around with the numbers they were expecting... I understand the current numbers still would reach (or even less) but i feel the intention was to create a blockbuster. Feel sad for a person who's working so hard but his own stardom comes in between his success
After so many movies if he cant pick a better script then he is to blame ultimately. Maybe he doesn't know what a good script is anymore or he has "Yes" men all around him who are afraid to criticize him As for working hard most actors in the industry are working hard except for Salman and his team. Most of the people are hung up on the science part of the film being unrealistic. Yes, nobody will allow a midget to be the first human on Mars. But the film is a perfect rendition of human psychology. It shows how a self-proclaimed 'aashiq' melts in a second when he holds his baby for the first time. How a wheelchair ridden woman has a hardened heart. and how a filmstar with millions of admirers is clueless in her own love life. The dialogues were amazing such as - "Tujhe Himmat hai magar parwah nahin hai." I am not an SRK fan and I hated his last few films but this one is a very good film. Possibly this film will do better on TV. Not everything looks good on the big screen.

Critics may not stunt actual creativity, but critics do have the power to affect the audience's viewpoint and ultimate decisions as to whether to see the film. I saw many people who, after seeing so many critics pan Zero, decide NOT to go to see the film, whereas they were excited to a degree about seeing the film before the reviews came out. The groundswell of support only began after the people who ignored the reviews went to see the film and connected with it. It is interesting to hear a critic's viewpoint, but I never let it affect my decision whether to see a film or not because I don't like to give that power of my choices away to someone else. I know a lot of people who are like me in that way, but there are many who are not. I really liked Zero (and Jagga Jasoos, actually) and had no problem suspending my disbelief for the sake of the storytelling, which wasn't perfect, but WAS entertaining. So, no, critics may not stunt creativity, but if their reviews turn the audience away, they could make producers and directors of films take fewer chances on more creative stories intended to move Hindi cinema forward and that would be a shame.
@Krishna Chaitanya I don't dispute that and I actually agree completely. I just don't think critics can absolve themselves completely from the influence they have. I've seen so many times people who have decided not to see a film because is was critically panned and then months later when it is released on digital format, discover they actually like it and lament that they didn't watch it in the cinema.
@Krishna Chaitanya If that is your viewpoint, that's fine. To your own point about art being objective, there is nuance, life experience and our own emotions that influence our likes and dislikes. If your tastes mirror those of a critic of that art, it is up to you whether to invest your time in experiencing it based on their opinion. It is MY CHOICE not let someone else make that decision for me and to go and have the experience myself. I can do that as well as taking on board the critic's perspective. Sometimes it turns out that I can agree with some points made by the critic, but often, there will be something in the story that touches me which makes the experience worthwhile in some way. I don't want to miss out on that just because the critic "didn't get it".

Zero was such a nice film. I too was disheartened by the early reviews but when I went to watch it, I was really shocked. It was a pleasure to watch such a fun-filled flick finally. Of course it's tone was fairy tale like, the world of the film was Disney like. But at no point the film becomes dull. And the acting is fantastic. These reviews are so so so misleading, I don't understand the hate.
Hey Anupama and Rahul, I’m a huge fun of your movie critique talks. A few months earlier, Tumbbad wasn’t discussed that apprehensively which lead to the movie getting a smaller share of theatres. This movie was eventually loved by the audience and the critics, whilst it was a little too late as the movie was out of theatres due to movies being released from bigger production house. I urge you to watch the movie KGF and envisage your opinions regarding the movie. This is a pure gem that deserves to be seen on the big screen. It would do a huge favor to the Indian film industry if you decide to spread awareness regarding the movie amongst your hardcore audience. I have utmost faith your team would shine the spotlight on KGF once they have seen the movie. P.S. The box office collection of KGF has exceeded Zero over the first weekend.

The whole movie itself is based on the idea that despite certain short comings in life you should not loose hope and be well basically So the baby scene was a part of the whole movie and it had an emotional payoff It was set up like that While in Zero The space thing comes up outta nowhere and now he's going to mars If in 3 idiots The astronaut pen given by Virus actually led to Ranchod's character going to the moon That would have been illogical and stupid but still more believable as compared to Zero space thing Its not about whats logical or illogical Its the way the movie builds upto certain moments, builds tension and pays off at the end. In order to do something ridiculous like sending your character to Mars You have to establish a world where its possible and can be done like Marvel does with their super hero movies Their super heroes are so over the top yet relatable enough for the audience to believe the fact that it can be done PK is a religious satire and parody. I really liked Rahul's analysis at 24-27. I totally agree with him. Shahrukh is definitely the best combination of a star and an actor that there could ever be in Bollywood. He is so talented and has immense potential. We have seen that in movies like Swades, Devdas, Chak De, MNIK, DDLJ, FAN, Raees, Zero, Veer Zaara, Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa, Darr. He is someone who can pull off the toughest of roles with aplomb. He is just not getting the right story that is able to soothe and entertain and capture the imagination of all (most if not all) the audiences alike. I just wish and hope that it comes to him sooner than later because he deserves it more than anyone else. Love to Shahrukh for being the amazing talent and hard work machine that he is! There's everything to admire in this man and it wells you on the insides when his movies don't do as well as his megastar stature. Why is a pan India movie like KGF being ignored by film companion? I can see 3 to 4 videos reviewing zero, I agree that it's SRK 's movie and will reach more people. But movies like KGF need the support from you guys to grow and bring diversity in the Indian film industry.

I understand it's a bollywood channel and stuff, still there is no review given to KGF by film companion south (i think there is one article about kgf and that's it). Although zero was not that great it has like 3 videos and some articles to review the film. All I am saying is there should be atleast one video reviewing KGF. Also one more correction its "kannada" and not "kannad".

I didn't even like the first half. I am sick of watching SRK trying to woo girls half his age. Anushka's acting was plain offensive. She just played a caricatural version of a woman with autism which could have been acceptable before but not now especially after watching the terrific Kalki Koechlein in Margarita with a straw. After watching so many awesome movies I don't why should I lower my expectations specially for a movie which is made on a whopping budget of 200 crores.

Read bardwaj rangan review. He should have been there to offer a different perspective. I loved the film. It was so different from usual bollywood film. Escape from reality. The way movies should be. The movie is very risky. Social media reviews are way too harsh. the protagonist are not usual bollywood hero/heroines . Kat was surprisingly good. I just didn't like the cameo part.

Once again a film is being put down because of people’s expectations from the star and not looking at the film as a FILM. Same thing happened with Thugs as well and it is not fair. I liked Zero, yes, the 2nd half was slow and boring in parts but it was no way near bad. The movie is a solid 7/10.

The second half of the movie was a disconnected mess. Atleast the first half felt a bit coherent. I hope the fans of Shahrukh realise that if you continue to back such average movies of his then you are giving him a terrible feedback, a feedback based on your love for the star and not the content. You are stunting his growth and putting him in a bubble. He needs to choose better scripts. If the script is bad, the film is bad. Doesn't matter how hard you worked for it or how well you acted in it. And, no. Zero is not an experimental movie. It had Om Shanti Om & Jaaneman vibe to it. All the best SRK! You will bounce back!
You're the only one who said Zero was not an experimental and we never said this movie was really good but we just appreciated his hardwork and he needs to work on better scripts but this movie deserved much more....it was definitely better than Race 3 and many other movies...
Second half was tad too lengthy .... First half was made by Anand L Rai sir, second half was influenced by SRK who likes cameos of celebrities. He likes science etc. Basically he is so desperate for success but he ruined Anand L Rai movie like how he ruined earlier movies. He try to copy Aamir khan by interfering in director work. But Aamir has got brain. In TOH aamir was interfering but Aditya Chopra stopped him and we know the results. Now Chinese version is edited by Aamir himself.
I watched this movie thinking I'd really dislike it. So many of SRKs recent movies have not just disappointed but made me angry. But not this one.. I really enjoyed it! Was enthralled by SRK after a long time.
Critics do make or break movies now. People rightfully want to check how a movie is before they spend money on it. And access is much easier. So, yes; you do have a lot of power. But that means you should do your job as faithfully as you can. Just making you aware of the power you have..😊

I liked the Bharadwaj Rangan review a lot..I could get a whole new level of viewpoint and details that one can have while watching a film and it will help me gain more joy while watching upcoming films..The way he explained the metaphorical scenes were just awesome.. @@rahulgogoi4238 see I watched it on FDFS. And the feeling was boy they promoted wrongly. At least if the walk in NASA uniform would have prepared the audience. But every time the negativity is amplified to a huge extent when it comes to Shahrukh. The man is in his worst phase and still hasn't really opted for an easy shortcut. He's taking way too many risks. But all these negativity that too so early after the movie release is hurting now. I loved her saying that she's a fan, and then to bash the film. It's like I'm killing you cause I like u a lot. Zero isn't the perfect film and possibly no where near what we would have expected but it surely deserves to be watched. I think critic should judge the film on what it is not what they would have expected it to be.
I am general audience and what I want is after spending 250 bucks i expect only entertainment, so I am not in theatre for finding out the subtext that you talk about.The first half for me was far more better than that of second half and that's it.I am just hoping that the shahrukh comes with a bang in his next one.👍

In my humble opinion, a film review is less about the movie but more of a reflection of the cherished values, cinematic understanding, intellectual capability, aesthetic sense & exposure levels of the film critic himself. A movie review actually gives us a chance to peep into the personalities of anupama, rahul, rajeev, rangan,etc. People who share similar values as that of the film critic are more likely to identify with the ratings given by that critic. One can be objective only about the technical aspects of a movie. As far as judging entertainment quotient is concerned, it is an extremely subjective matter, esp in a country as diverse as ours. Anyone agrees?
Wonderful discussion, as a non-filmy person I got to learn more about industry expectations pressures and critics skills. Good learnings for me to be applied across industries. Thank you for the honest opinions and facts.

To all those asling for KGF movie reviews and trolling these two for not reviewing the same, Please bear in mind that Film Companion is an entity in itself, comprising not just these two. So if you want a review of the same, kindly head to the website filmcompanion.in and read, share it to popularise the movie. Yes, one can perhaps criticise them for not giving opportunities to other regional critics to have a chat just like they do in this segment(but that also depends whether those critics are comfortable on a visual medium or not.) Perhaps they could start a similar segment on Film Companion South. But targetting these two critics for not reviewing a particular movie is plain stupidity. If you are a book lover, do you read every book released? Every critic at the end of the day has a choice to review the movies they want to, keeping their own capabilities and limitations in mind.
Mr. Rahul Desai, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi wasn’t a lesser of a film, it was bashed by critics, it wasn’t promoted much, it released just after the Bombay Blasts, but audience loved it and went on to become a huge blockbuster!

Well I don't know how much effect a reviewer has on the overall business of a movie, but I can speak for myself. I was going to watch the movie after the trailer, and now I will not spend money to watch the movie because the critics I trust didn't like it. I don't think I watch any movie without hearing the critics anymore. So I get that you need to be honest about your job, but you need to take responsibility for its effect as well. Thinking critics have zero impact on a movie's business is being juvenile.
That is exactly my point. Ppl bashing critics saying that they r purposely getting the film down,doesn’t make sense at all. This movie was brought down by film reviewers. And that spread to the public who went to see the movie prejudiced. This movie was made with a lot of difficulty. Each shot was filmed FIVE times. And put together using latest technology. The film reviewers ignored all this.

I love "let's talk movies" section. Great work guys. I haven't seen the film but I think I am going to like it since I have liked jaan-e-mann ( I guess I am the only one). I personally root for movies and actors who put an extra effort and hardwork and try to do something different. So yeah it does change my perception about the movie and tends to appreciate it a bit more. For example RA-one, with all the weak storyline and all over the place screenplay the Vfx and special effects done in that movie were amazing, groundbreaking for indian cinema and still holds up.

Other bollywood stars of his stature, play with their characters and promote their films by climbing on the back of the process they have gone through to get into the character (some of them even don't do that). And here's SRK, who plays with genres, stories, and most importantly, plays with imagination of the audience. I will be so happy if he goes complete downhill from here trying to achieve something big and new rather than breaking box office records with films with motivation and messages. There can only be one Shahrukh Khan. Once a fan, always a fan. And special thanks to Aanand Rai and Himanshu Sharma to make a film, which was way beyond anyone's imagination, no matter how good or bad it turned out to be.

When it's just the 4th day. My tickets were booked for the first day late show. I watched the movie after watching your review. I could practically hear your voice in my ear. I do rely on reviews, be it critics or audiences. I think many audiences are influenced by critics reviews in how they rate the movie themselves(Diehard fans are a different matter altogether of course.). So yes, critics do have an impact on the BO.

After watching so many people commenting and discussing KGF, I went to watch it. Utter disappointment. The same South stuff about one messiah born to save people from all their miserable lives. Generic dialogues. In the kannada version the dialogues might sound good or what I have no idea but ears hurt to hear the hindi ones. Overuse of background dialogues and music to push up the stature of the our hero like shoving up in our ear that this man is so great, love him. I don't get what people are raving about so much. PS- I haven't watched ZERO, don't have the patience for anymore bullshit after watching KGF.

Agree with everything what you both are saying! I went to see the movie for Katrina and yeah she was really good! I have few things to say: 1. I think you missed mentioning Raees movie . In the movie Raees ,Shahrukh khan was fabulous and the movie was good as well. 2. In the movie zero dance competition was arranged just show the Salman Khan and it was clearly not the Director’s idea or vision , I am glad they did not show Farah khan and Karan Johar as there was an opportunity to show dance competition judges. 3. Yes you are right without Katrina movie story will not make any difference but I think her character and Baua’s character are related somehow. Look at the scene where Baua wants Babita to insult him so that he can leave her and go back to Afia again. Subtly Katrina ( Babita) is also seeking the same so that she will have courage to stop loving her bf ( Abhay Deol) in the film. And Baua gives her that by insulting Abhay Deol in front of everyone.

in Koffee with Karan, Salman was asked if he any pay attention to reviews and he replied ask reviewers them if they even take thr own reviews seriously. So for the sake of Bollywood you guys need to own your role, don't end a video saying that please don't take us seriously. What I believe is there is a lot of pressure on Shahrukh to pull off a 200 / 300 Cr blockbuster. Thus the reason they go to scale the movie up.. If the movie was based only out of meerut or Mumbai...The Movie would have turned out great but wouldn't have been able to turn around with the numbers they were expecting... I understand the current numbers still would reach (or even less) but i feel the intention was to create a blockbuster. Feel sad for a person who's working so hard but his own stardom comes in between his success

Most of the people are hung up on the science part of the film being unrealistic. Yes, nobody will allow a midget to be the first human on Mars. But the film is a perfect rendition of human psychology. It shows how a self-proclaimed 'aashiq' melts in a second when he holds his baby for the first time. How a wheelchair ridden woman has a hardened heart. and how a filmstar with millions of admirers is clueless in her own love life. The dialogues were amazing such as - "Tujhe Himmat hai magar parwah nahin hai." I am not an SRK fan and I hated his last few films but this one is a very good film. Possibly this film will do better on TV. Not everything looks good on the big screen.

Critics may not stunt actual creativity, but critics do have the power to affect the audience's viewpoint and ultimate decisions as to whether to see the film. I saw many people who, after seeing so many critics pan Zero, decide NOT to go to see the film, whereas they were excited to a degree about seeing the film before the reviews came out. The groundswell of support only began after the people who ignored the reviews went to see the film and connected with it. It is interesting to hear a critic's viewpoint, but I never let it affect my decision whether to see a film or not because I don't like to give that power of my choices away to someone else. I know a lot of people who are like me in that way, but there are many who are not. I really liked Zero (and Jagga Jasoos, actually) and had no problem suspending my disbelief for the sake of the storytelling, which wasn't perfect, but WAS entertaining. So, no, critics may not stunt creativity, but if their reviews turn the audience away, they could make producers and directors of films take fewer chances on more creative stories intended to move Hindi cinema forward and that would be a shame.
@Krishna Chaitanya I don't dispute that and I actually agree completely. I just don't think critics can absolve themselves completely from the influence they have. I've seen so many times people who have decided not to see a film because is was critically panned and then months later when it is released on digital format, discover they actually like it and lament that they didn't watch it in the cinema.

@Krishna Chaitanya If that is your viewpoint, that's fine. To your own point about art being objective, there is nuance, life experience and our own emotions that influence our likes and dislikes. If your tastes mirror those of a critic of that art, it is up to you whether to invest your time in experiencing it based on their opinion. It is MY CHOICE not let someone else make that decision for me and to go and have the experience myself. I can do that as well as taking on board the critic's perspective. Sometimes it turns out that I can agree with some points made by the critic, but often, there will be something in the story that touches me which makes the experience worthwhile in some way. I don't want to miss out on that just because the critic "didn't get it".
The people who r watching critics review.. Need to kno the review obviously... To decide if they want to watch the film or not.. So why would you say that they r tarnishing the movie gng audience..? Zero was such a nice film. I too was disheartened by the early reviews but when I went to watch it, I was really shocked. It was a pleasure to watch such a fun-filled flick finally. Of course it's tone was fairy tale like, the world of the film was Disney like. But at no point the film becomes dull. And the acting is fantastic.

Hey Anupama and Rahul, I’m a huge fun of your movie critique talks. A few months earlier, Tumbbad wasn’t discussed that apprehensively which lead to the movie getting a smaller share of theatres.
This movie was eventually loved by the audience and the critics, whilst it was a little too late as the movie was out of theatres due to movies being released from bigger production house.
I urge you to watch the movie KGF and envisage your opinions regarding the movie. This is a pure gem that deserves to be seen on the big screen. It would do a huge favor to the Indian film industry if you decide to spread awareness regarding the movie amongst your hardcore audience.
I have utmost faith your team would shine the spotlight on KGF once they have seen the movie.
P.S. The box office collection of KGF has exceeded Zero over the first weekend.

PK is a religious satire and parody. Not a fantasy or romantic movie. PK is somewhat of a slapstick movie as well

Why the mars mission in Zero worked for the story and what pay off did it have eventually? Was it setup at any point of the movie in the beginning or the 2nd act?

I really liked Rahul's analysis at 24-27. I totally agree with him. Shahrukh is definitely the best combination of a star and an actor that there could ever be in Bollywood. He is so talented and has immense potential. We have seen that in movies like Swades, Devdas, Chak De, MNIK, DDLJ, FAN, Raees, Zero, Veer Zaara, Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa, Darr. He is someone who can pull off the toughest of roles with aplomb. He is just not getting the right story that is able to soothe and entertain and capture the imagination of all (most if not all) the audiences alike. I just wish and hope that it comes to him sooner than later because he deserves it more than anyone else. Love to Shahrukh for being the amazing talent and hard work machine that he is! There's everything to admire in this man and it wells you on the insides when his movies don't do as well as his megastar stature. Maybe it's just that the euphoric love and extreme emotions that Shahrukh gives rise to in almost everyone that the expectations are highest from him and even the smallest of follies and flaws get highlighted way beyond their measure! Why is a pan India movie like KGF being ignored by film companion? I can see 3 to 4 videos reviewing zero, I agree that it's SRK 's movie and will reach more people. But movies like KGF need the support from you guys to grow and bring diversity in the Indian film industry.

@kasim with all due respect, film companion has reviewed other pan India movies like bahubali and 2.0. I understand it's a bollywood channel and stuff, still there is no review given to KGF by film companion south (i think there is one article about kgf and that's it). Although zero was not that great it has like 3 videos and some articles to review the film. All I am saying is there should be atleast one video reviewing KGF.
Also one more correction its "kannada" and not "kannad".

I didn't even like the first half. I am sick of watching SRK trying to woo girls half his age. Anushka's acting was plain offensive. She just played a caricatural version of a woman with autism which could have been acceptable before but not now especially after watching the terrific Kalki Koechlein in Margarita with a straw. After watching so many awesome movies I don't why should I lower my expectations specially for a movie which is made on a whopping budget of 200 crores.

Read bardwaj rangan review. He should have been there to offer a different perspective. I loved the film. It was so different from usual bollywood film. Escape from reality. The way movies should be. The movie is very risky. Social media reviews are way too harsh. the protagonist are not usual bollywood hero/heroines . Kat was surprisingly good. I just didn't like the cameo part.

Once again a film is being put down because of people’s expectations from the star and not looking at the film as a FILM. Same thing happened with Thugs as well and it is not fair. I liked Zero, yes, the 2nd half was slow and boring in parts but it was no way near bad. The movie is a solid 7/10.

The second half of the movie was a disconnected mess. Atleast the first half felt a bit coherent.

Second half was tad too lengthy .... First half was made by Anand L Rai sir, second half was influenced by SRK who likes cameos of celebrities. He likes science etc. Basically he is so desperate for success but he ruined Anand L Rai movie like how he ruined earlier movies. He try to copy Aamir khan by interfering in director work. But Aamir has got brain. In TOH aamir was interfering but Aditya Chopra stopped him and we know the results. Now Chinese version is edited by Aamir himself.

I watched this movie thinking I'd really dislike it. So many of SRKs recent movies have not just disappointed but made me angry. But not this one.. I really enjoyed it! Was enthralled by SRK after a long time.
Critics do make or break movies now. People rightfully want to check how a movie is before they spend money on it. And access is much easier. So, yes; you do have a lot of power. But that means you should do your job as faithfully as you can. Just making you aware of the power you have..😊

But every time the negativity is amplified to a huge extent when it comes to Shahrukh. The man is in his worst phase and still hasn't really opted for an easy shortcut. He's taking way too many risks. But all these negativity that too so early after the movie release is hurting now. I loved her saying that she's a fan, and then to bash the film. It's like I'm killing you cause I like u a lot. Zero isn't the perfect film and possibly no where near what we would have expected but it surely deserves to be watched. I think critic should judge the film on what it is not what they would have expected it to be.

In my humble opinion, a film review is less about the movie but more of a reflection of the cherished values, cinematic understanding, intellectual capability, aesthetic sense & exposure levels of the film critic himself. A movie review actually gives us a chance to peep into the personalities of anupama, rahul, rajeev, rangan,etc. People who share similar values as that of the film critic are more likely to identify with the ratings given by that critic. One can be objective only about the technical aspects of a movie. As far as judging entertainment quotient is concerned, it is an extremely subjective matter, esp in a country as diverse as ours. Anyone agrees?

Yes, one can perhaps criticise them for not giving opportunities to other regional critics to have a chat just like they do in this segment(but that also depends whether those critics are comfortable on a visual medium or not.) Perhaps they could start a similar segment on Film Companion South.
But targetting these two critics for not reviewing a particular movie is plain stupidity. If you are a book lover, do you read every book released? Every critic at the end of the day has a choice to review the movies they want to, keeping their own capabilities and limitations in mind.
Mr. Rahul Desai, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi wasn’t a lesser of a film, it was bashed by critics, it wasn’t promoted much, it released just after the Bombay Blasts, but audience loved it and went on to become a huge blockbuster!

Well I don't know how much effect a reviewer has on the overall business of a movie, but I can speak for myself. I was going to watch the movie after the trailer, and now I will not spend money to watch the movie because the critics I trust didn't like it. I don't think I watch any movie without hearing the critics anymore.
So I get that you need to be honest about your job, but you need to take responsibility for its effect as well. Thinking critics have zero impact on a movie's business is being juvenile.

I love "let's talk movies" section. Great work guys. I haven't seen the film but I think I am going to like it since I have liked jaan-e-mann ( I guess I am the only one). I personally root for movies and actors who put an extra effort and hardwork and try to do something different. So yeah it does change my perception about the movie and tends to appreciate it a bit more. When it's just the 4th day. My tickets were booked for the first day late show. I watched the movie after watching your review. I could practically hear your voice in my ear. I wasn't sure if my opinion was unbiased or if it was you. Please make sure you give a film a fair chance. Ethics, question yours. I prefer Rajeev Masand , Bhardwaj Rangan to you. Rajeev after all these years doesn't give his review till 10pm. Been watching his reviews for 13 years now. Bhardwaj is in no hurry to pull down a movie either. You came in at noon...overeager with how much the movie disappointed you. Hungry for views. Even Rahul Desai. Just understand it's so easy to sling mud at a movie. Both of you have never made one. When I went to bed the previous night I'd only seen positive reviews & was really excited to watch it & it makes me wonder if I would the think the second half was bad. I do rely on reviews, be it critics or audiences. I think many audiences are influenced by critics reviews in how they rate the movie themselves(Diehard fans are a different matter altogether of course.). So yes, critics do have an impact on the BO.

After watching so many people commenting and discussing KGF, I went to watch it. Utter disappointment. The same South stuff about one messiah born to save people from all their miserable lives. Generic dialogues. In the kannada version the dialogues might sound good or what I have no idea but ears hurt to hear the hindi ones. Overuse of background dialogues and music to push up the stature of the our hero like shoving up in our ear that this man is so great, love him. I don't get what people are raving about so much.
PS- I haven't watched ZERO, don't have the patience for anymore bullshit after watching KGF.

Agree with everything what you both are saying! I went to see the movie for Katrina and yeah she was really good! I have few things to say:
1. I think you missed mentioning Raees movie . In the movie Raees ,Shahrukh khan was fabulous and the movie was good as well.
2. In the movie zero dance competition was arranged just show the Salman Khan and it was clearly not the Director’s idea or vision , I am glad they did not show Farah khan and Karan Johar as there was an opportunity to show dance competition judges.
3. Yes you are right without Katrina movie story will not make any difference but I think her character and Baua’s character are related somehow. Look at the scene where Baua wants Babita to insult him so that he can leave her and go back to Afia again. Subtly Katrina ( Babita) is also seeking the same so that she will have courage to stop loving her bf ( Abhay Deol) in the film. And Baua gives her that by insulting Abhay Deol in front of everyone.

they got it wrong when they said critics do not harm the films......nowadays there are thousands of critics there on the net and all of them appear on social media and there are thousands of memes based on the critics review.....and then on the day of release when these memes appear on peoples social media walls.....they create a negative impact on audience's mind.

So for the sake of Bollywood you guys need to own your role, don't end a video saying that please don't take us seriously.
