The talent was always there, so it took some persistence for Jennifer Warnes to break through. Seven years without a hit is nearly the end of a career in the recording biz. The Fifth Dimension's cover of "Aquarius/Let the Sunshine In" probably quashed this version. I was jocking in college radio when an Arista rep gave me a copy of her first LP for that label in 1976. Of moving paper fantasy
Listening for the new told lies
With supreme visions of lonely tunes
Somewhere
Inside something there is a rush of
Greatness
Who knows what stands in front of
Our lives
I fashion my future on films in space
Silence
Tells me secretly
Everything
Everything
Let the sunshine, let the sunshine in
The sunshine in
Let the sunshine, let the sunshine in
The sunshine in
The lyrics are rather obscure.
@@idanwillenchik3050 hippies had a very cryptic way of speaking...maybe it was the acid, maybe it was the next evolutionary step after the hipsters from half-a-decade earlier...who knows? The syncopated phrasing of the lyrics makes it difficult to sing karaoke I can tell you that, LOL!
@@idanwillenchik3050 They're clear as pure water
idan willenchik no you must have just not educated yourself on the 70’s period and the peace protests and everything else that played itself out then. Nothing obscure in the lyrics, it’s pure brilliance and poetry. You sound like a millenial - don’t. You come off as ignorant and shallow.
Words profoundly (and sadly) relevant for today.
Brilliant voice, same name as mine, Jennifer 😂😊❤
Wow...I had no idea Jennifer Warnes went back this far.

Det var tider det. Kommer aldri tilbake. Synes synd på ungdommen i dag som aldri fikk opplevd det!
