@@arch5727 heyy!! Ik it's a little tough because we're so used to playing DDU-UDU, it really helps to verbally dictate the strumming pattern while practising. You'll get there ♥️

@@arch5727 I first just fully listen and pay attention to the strumming and then sing the pattern of strumming "down/ down/ upup/ updownupdown" like so ... Then I pick one chord usually C and then practice in 0.5x, then slowly build tempo. And when I'm comfortable keeping the pattern to an extent play along with the song. Keep trying you'll get there. Also try different kinds of easier patterns first simply to get used to the exercise. Good luck!

It is difficult to get it since it is in fact not very clear tutorial. Look at my comment about strumming pattern and chord change locations.
My wife is strating ukulele and wasted many hours trying to follow loose/incomplete and even confusing guidance. Shame.

i have a really hard time with strumming patterns, no matter how easy or how hard, no matter how many strums they are i have difficulty finding the rhythm, and then smoothly transitioning into the next chord even if my fingers all know their places already. is this something common to happen? it always gets in the way when i try to play and i've been playing the uke since 2019 now TT.
I played guitar for 7 years without being able to strum. Then I bought a ukalele and just forced myself to learn to strum for 6 months straight. Safe to say I got it down now but I understand your struggle. What I did is, just grab a metronome and set it to 4/4 time, and force myself to tap to the beat, every downbeat. Then after I got it down flawlessly, I would do the same with the uke. D D D D, do this at the pace you can so set your metronome to 60bpmn for example and then try to go up in 5 or 10 increments, after you got some experience try DU DU DU DU. If you got that down, try to do an easy song, I started with Coldplay by this guy. How I teach it to myself is to just force the pattern first without any rythm. And then I just listen very closely to the video and try to sing it almost, after doing that for a few minutes, it clicks for me. Might wanna give it a try! Good luck and don’t give up, again I understand how frustrating it can be, but just keep practicing and you will get it. 🔥

Oh so anyone struggling with the "your skin and bones" part I had to watch it a few times but I think it's F strum patter x 1 then the Am and G chords are strummed just twice then repeat then back to strumming patterned 2x
