Congrats, Zach! I wish you and your wife a very happy marriage. I've started watching your videos when back in 2015-2016 and just this year I started riding fixed gear 😅
I have a Schwinn Glenwood bicycle & I ride it everywhere!! I have 2 single speed bicycles such as retrospec Harper plus black & gray!! I 💕 riding my bicycles more than life itself!!
Kona Paddy Wagon was my first bike i got in 2009 when I got back into cycling. Rode it SS but you're right, it was a work horse, and it was affordable. Some days I wish I still had that green and orange beast.
I have a paddy wagon and it's probably my favorite and most used bike ever. It's gone everywhere I could get to. It ain't flashy but it'll never not be ready to go. I also happen to think mine is a bit of looker.
Hi Zach, congrats on the marriage. Look at us all growing up. Now the fixie craze of the twenty-tens is a decade old, we're settling down, getting married, first grey hairs, knees are hurting... I'm selling my Bianchi Pista with Zen/Suginos for a geared touring bike. But I'll stay subscribed. Maybe you can make a video about building your wife her own bike.
I still ride a Cinelly Mystic Rats from 2011, that I updated last year, with 25c tyres (the max allowed). And i'm still happy to be able to ride fast and reactive on urban roads. I will never swap a light and simple single speed/fixed gear bike with any other "commuting bike".
I just recently sold my mystic rats, didn’t have enough clearance for Sugino 75s so now I’ve got an affinity metro. The cinelli was a nice ride for sure
Goddamn it. I had a Giant Bowery and then a Kona Paddywagon and I never had ANY interest in riding either as fixed gear, only single speed. Now here I am years later wanting to get into fixed gear riding for the first time.
What a great video Zach! I've been watching your videos for a long time but I never tell you about them, bad for me. I am from Argentina, a fan of fixed gear, but I am also a track and field racer. The Fuji was crazy to run, plus the competition wheels like lenticulars and high profile tires look great on it!
Right on! I had a Fuji when i lived in Cali 2012-16. Road that bad boi to work from Huntington Beach to my office in Norwalk, of course typical fashion for socal, it got stolen 😢. Anyways congrats 🎉 💍 and great vid my guy 👍🏾
Love the idea of a deep(-ish) dive into some brands and their track frames. I really enjoyed the history lesson on Giant! Also congrats on your marriage :)
The Giant Bowery fork was goated. I had one on my BB17, and I felt invincible. So much stiffness, but didn't kill you on rough roads (I ran a 23c Maxxis Refuse). I miss that build so much. Also, this video was very informative, to the point, I've finally figured out one of my single speed frames is indeed a Kona Paddy Wagon. I knew it was a Kona, but never did the research to determine the model. Great work.
I owned a giant Bowery and Fuji trackpro but ended selling them because I thought I was getting too old for them. My love for the fixed gear is back. Now I just bought a Iro mark v and can’t wait to upgrade and ride
I started out on a Windsor clockwork from bikesdirect, then moved on to the Specialized Langster, after that was stolen I got my hands on a '09 FTP which I still ride to this day.
I have a FTP 2005, I'm actually selling it very soon! It's too small and it's definitely a track geometry! I just ordered the Wabi Classic, 55cm is perfect for me!!!!
Congratulations to you and your wife 🎉 hope both of you could spend vacation time in the Philippines doing epic rides from the beautiful countryside :D
Love my Omnium! (My frames actually the second top one on the Pedalroom page you were on lol) Had no idea Giant was a taiwanese brand, really nice to learn about the history Just wish theyd bring track frames back 😢
I actually own a Fuji Track Classic, pretty stiff but honestly one of the most fun bikes to ride. I had a Fuji feather in 2013, so when I was looking for a new fixed gear, marketplace won with the track classic
I rode a Fuji Track from 2005 onward and sold it a few years ago. It was my only bike for a few years. Finally sold it on FB to a local guy who’s still riding it around. I have 9 or so? pretty nice bikes these days and still think about that one.
Wow thats so crazy you mentioned the FTO. I work at pedal pro bicycles in Tampa and we just got one from Maryland from the sister shop. Its never been ribbin by anyone. It has a carbon crankset, san marco saddle ans novatec wheels which to my understanding are not around anymore. Im buying that bike so thanks for the info about that bije you heloed ne make my decision in grabbing that bike. Oh and it has the dipple because the ratio is 48-15. The seat oost hasnt been cut either so i can a great fit. Yes yes yes the FTO is mine we are getting married. Its gonna be me and my Fuji. 🌀🌀🌀🌀🌀🌀🌀🌀🌀
I am looking for a single speed adult bike. NOT a fixed geared bike, but just a very simple low maintnence single speed bike. I don't want just a poor quality bike but something that will last. I have watched your videos from years ago, but what brand would be good.
Oh no ! What will happen to the channel? Will you settle down and get a 9-5 job? Will you have enough time to keep up with your family and babies ? Keep me posted!! Congratulations too. I guess
Aye! No aluminum bikes! Especially fixed gear bikes. I did have an aluminum road bike with a carbon fork at one time. It was a fuji something from around 2010. I sold that. My fixed gear bikes, hell all of my bikes are all steel frames. I have a Wabi Special, a Felt Brougham, a motobecane x-cross, A windsor The Hour, and then my vintage geared road bikes. 1986 Mitata 710, 1986, Raleigh Grand Prix, 1984 Specialized Allez SE, 1985 Univega nuovo sport, and just bought a Koga Miyata Gents Racer Aero from 1982.. Steel is real 🤟
Congrats, Zach! I wish you and your wife a very happy marriage. I've started watching your videos when back in 2015-2016 and just this year I started riding fixed gear 😅
Congratz for your marriage my friend! May happines and prosperity be with you both!
Congratulations! I love this Taiwan history tour! Its always great to see all the bikes that came before.
As Italian I had to stop for a moment to check you actually said “pompino”

She better feels *one with her bike* then.
