Hi, I hope you can help me, I'm about to buy an Empire 1000 Ze needle, but the seller says that the cushioning of the cantilever is hard, could you tell me if it is repairable? ' Any oil that helps?
    I would appreciate your help.

    I like his Dutch accent.

an hour twenty of work, worth 5600 euros?
let's take material costs, say 500 euros.
    incomprencible.
I congratulate the craftsman, but I think that even I could make

You aren't paying for tyhe 20 hours of work, you are paying for the 80k hours of experience that came before those 20 hours of work. If you think you can replicate what the guy is doing you are free to do so. It's clearly working for him.....

@@trevor245 Yes, it is true, but I prefer to spend the money in a company with more than 100 years of experience such as ortofon or audio technica than in something more recent. I mean hundreds of people and engineers know a little more than a single person with 80k hours of experience. it is my personal opinion.
And if in this life with a little marketing they can sell you that 6000 euros is worth 20 hours of work from an expert.
It happens with diamonds that the monopoly company de beers, raises and lowers the market price as many times as it occurs to them . marketing . Probably if he charged 500 euros, nobody would buy him, I also understand that, human beings are that stupid, the expensive is always associated with the exclusive.

    • @trevor245
      @trevor245 3 ปีที่แล้ว

@@leonardog.994 that's not entirely true. Ortofon, audio technica etc make good products but they mass produce stuff. They don't have the option to do stuff the same way as a craftsman like the guy in the video does. And even if it's for sure a game of diminishing returns, the cartridges are still measured and compared to other cartridges at similar price points. It's not like it's going to measure the same as a 500 usd cartridge made by audio technica even if you might barely be able to hear the difference.

@@trevor245 I am not referring to the cartridges of basics of large consumption. ortofon and audio tecnica.
I speak of the high-end ones, I remain 100 with the knowledge of a large company where there are many (heads), engineers constantly developing, that think instead of 1 person with their 80k hours of experience.
I am not saying that I do not know how to work, but what I have said is 6000 euros and 20 hours of work if there is one, for me it is not coherent, nor justifiable that money.
an ortofon MC century, or anna, even the audio technica AT-ART1000.
it is superior to the best cartridge of this manufacturer

    • @manolokonosko2868

Here's the mistake you are making when you question the price of the cartridge. It has SOMETHING to do with the COST of the materials, and with the years of experience of the man making them, but the most important part is the PERCEIVED VALUE of the cartridge. You could train 1000 Chinese or Indian workers to do the same job, using the same materials, but the perceived value consumers would give them is lower than if a Dutchman or German or Japanese craftsman made it. Same exact process. Also, please consider that this is a BUSINESS, and although this man could build 10 of these a day, for a value of E65,000 - there is a LIMITED market for this as other companies are also building these handmade type of cartridges and charging Lower and higher prices. In the end, the value YOU give it is what makes this purchase worthwhile or not. You could but a top quality Moving magnet cartridge and the difference would be marginal. People with a lot of money will spend that 6500 Euros to get the "full" range of sound - much of which they will not be able to hear anyway. So, to make it simple: It's all in your head. Would I buy a MC cartridge if I could? Yes, but for $500 USD. One day, if I make friends with a rich guy who has a $10,000 cartridge, I'd like to listen to it, but to my ears, although it may be impressive, it may still not drive me to spend that kind of money. But that's ME.
