- Part 1: Nuwara Eliya Trip - Riding a Motorcycle through the mountains of Nuwara Eliya was incredible! We got completely lost and drove halfway to Kandy instead of finding Peacock Rock.
However we did try to find the sunken temple of Purana Kadadora Viharaya and ended up in the giant dome stupa of Kothmale Mahaweli Maha Seya.

the statues at the temple are recently made... if you visit Anuradapura or Polonnaruwa you will see the ancient statues like that.. and the famous "sandakada pahana" (the half circle carvings near the stairs at the temple)

Really Johnny, never mind the lady who shouted the kids away. It wasn't her heart which lured the kids away from you, it was the coronavirus, which struck fear in people's hearts. Don't let that incident discourage you from contacting the locals. Safe journeys.
You got to do Horton plains ( world's end ).. take Sandwiches for a picnic at baker's falls .. another dimension. .. . Yall would love it . But be aware if it's too cloudy . You'd have to evacuate fast .. . But certainly worth chilling in those spring chill waters .

@@JohnnyFD .. I generally park at the far Inn & it's a small trek to get to the falls away from any crowds... done it thrice so far . Keep eyes peeled though for slippery slopes .

I've visited Nuwaraeliya in last year and I went to single tree hill , horton plains, Piduruthalagala mountain view point and Lovers leap waterfall there... Soo good! highly recommended.. cheers!

Dont miss the Piduruthalagala mountain (The highest peak in Sri Lanka) you can reach their in the same Nuwara eliya town... ask local they will guide you.... its a sanctuary guarded by the Sri Lanka ARMY / AIRFORce and Sri Lanka Airport Authority (Two main Radars are operating from their)....
Always a better experience in bike ride when you going up hills. Thumbs up 👍

This is such a beautiful vlog much different from typical vlogs done at my hometown Nuwara Eliya. You guys are such a genuine and humble people who tries to show more to the world than just the beauty of this wonderful Island. Massive respect for that dude. And I personally deeply apologize on behalf of all Sri Lankans for incident happened when you tried to approach those kids, thats not the typical behavior of majority of Sri Lankans so dont ever hesitate to approach anyone in the future because of that incident. Anyway you are doing wonderful job with all of your videos johnny, keep up the good work!

Nice video..guys , you can travel " moon plains" in nuwaraeliya..its located in nuwaraeliya town area..beautiful 360' degree view point...try it😊😊👍
Ohh you were soo close to peacock hill. You just had to continue riding on the road near the temple. little bit rough road but soo close to the top..
While you are in nuwaraeliya you should try pattipola(railway station at the highest altitude in sl ) to ohiya road which goes through hortain plains national park( you have to buy tickets at the entrance ). Such a beautiful road.

@JohnnyFD FYI when you were asking the boys how to play cricket the lady was screaming at the boys to go home & stop talking to you because they'll get Corona. Usually people are very friendly and encourage their kids to talk to foreigners. But Corona cause panic now so I think she was being cautious not rude.

Places you should visit are prehistoric cave art discovered in 2005 near Ella. A hike guide called thetravelmonkey posted on insta. Check him out. Horton plains is another cool place with sambar deers. It feels like you are in north America there.
The fear of foreigners having Corona is uneducated. Maybe back in March when it first happened it would be cautious, but 5 months later with the borders closed it's just being ignorant.

Check out 18 bends road going to Mahiyanganaya also since you liked the drive to Nuwara Eliya.

Due to security reasons, they will not allow visitors in nowadays. That is sad. We tried and failed too. But Kotmale Maha Weli Seya is a thing one must come and see. From there one can 360 view of the mountain range.

Hi Johnny, Wel come to Sri Lanka , The paradise ...Even though i live in LA california i think sri lanka is safer than any other country now . try kandy - maligawa - botanical garden , pinnawela - elephant orphanage , batalegala rock - hike , ella - waterfall, nuwara eliya - garden , dambulla- caves , sigiya - rock, Anuradhapura, polonnaruwa - anciat ruins , trincomali - marbal beach and natural harbor , down south -mirissa , hikkaduwa - beach , galle -port , Aru gam bay - surfing hot spot, yala, wil paththu - national parks, also try kali pitiya -beach , enjoy your vacation and be safe .... That woman 14:06 who was yelling at their kid has a little bit scare of COVID-19 (but not everyone in the country). They definitely assumed that It was spread by tourists visit at that time in Sri Lanka. Even when I visit there as a Sri Lankan, I also have to face these kinds of situations. Sorry for that feeling at that time.
