Today the 14th of September 2024, I am converting to Roman Catholicism Latin mass style. I’m so excited. I’ve gone from atheism to Latin mass in stages since 2020.

When I was protestant I could never understand why they treated Mary as just a vessel. She is the mother of Jesus. She said yes to God. I thought it was so disrespectful towards all moms. The easiest part for me becoming Catholic was accepting Mary as my mother. ❤

I didn't really comprehend Mary's sacrifice until I became a Mom. Imagine how she felt watching her beloved Son being brutally beaten and then crucified. Her heart was surely broken. Mary is a perfect example of a Christian Mother. She raised Christ and knows Him better than any human being on Earth. Mary deserves our respect and gratitude. ❤

@@fabiotuan5206angels can also be Onmipresent.. but they are not Gods...
Being Omnipresent, does not mean, you are a God. angels and Saints who can be present at any places means they are outside time and space. Just like God. But they are not God. Same for devils and demons.. they can be present elsewhere but they are not gods.... But they can do that because they are outside SPACE AND TIME....
and when you are outside SPACE and TIME, that also made them eternal. Just like how St. Michael Archangel appeared during the first ear in heaven that happened in creation period but still existing until now.... Not because he is god or he achieved imortality. No, its actually because he is outside SPACE AND TIME....
So Mary being Omnipresent does not made her a god. You are very confuse about that.
God is Omnipresent but it doesnt mean He cannot give that ability to anyone He like.
Afterall, God is the Creator but He shared His creations to all living things as we all are CO-CREATORS.... We became a partaker of God's power and wisdom...

@@fabiotuan5206how did Jesus became of no sin?
Who gave Him His flesh and blood? The Son of God appeared in the beginning with the Father, but He truly did not have a human flesh and blood and bones....
Incarnation happened when Mary said "Yes" which means the WORD OF GOD, THE POWER AND WISDOM OF GOD who is the SON OF GOD, the SECOND PERSON OF GOD who was NO FLESH, NO BLOOD, NO BONES became HUMAN...
And who do you think provided Him with a PERFECT BODY, FLESH AND BLOOD?
      IT was Mary..
That's why Jesus called her WOMAN.... not because He was disrespecting His own mother or placing her below Him. He called Mary, WOMAN, because just like how Adam called Eve, WOMAN, because she is his "FLESH OF MY FLESH, AND BONES OF MY BONES"... Jesus on the other hand also called His mother WOMAn because she is indeed His FLESH AND BLOOD. Both of them shared the same humanity..

@@bobizzle1605 I would argue that prayer is, and has always been, an integral part of worship. Or perhaps to say, it is a means of achieving effective worship. Jesus provides in the Gospel the purpose of prayer and to Whom it should be addressed. Both things are achieved in praying simply "Thy will be done," as Jesus instructed. He never suggests to pray to his mother, only "Our Father in heaven." You pray to the Father to carry out the will of the Father.

God's prohibition of Idols in Exodus 20 has to be balanced with the proper use of images He commands. Like His ordering of Cherub statues on the Ark, 5 chapters later. Exodus 25:18-20
The Bronze Serpent He commanded to be made:
      Numbers 21:8-9
And all the statues and images in the Temple of Solomon:
      2 Chronicles 3:11
      1 Kings 6:31-35
      1 Kings 8:6
      Ezekiel 41:17
So there is a proper place for images in the OT.

I'm not RC, I'm Anglo-Catholic, but I started to seek the intercession of Mary just a few months ago and I've had the same experience you shared about feeling her with you. I can't explain it either. I also found myself viewing her as my own Mother. I felt affection for her. Granted, it's not at all the same kind of affection I feel for Jesus and the Trinity, but It's still sweet and comforting.
I've also grown to be very protective of her. When protestants bash her I get super offended and angry, though I do my best to control it. I'm not perfect however.
I've also been growing in my faith and the application of Sacred Scripture as I've meditated on the life of Jesus and sought her intercession in the rosary. Even my wife and children noted significant changes in my demeanor and behavior.
It's not Mary that is working those changes. It's the Holy Spirit, who is filling me with more and more grace as Jesus fulfills Mary's prayers on my behalf. It's bringing me closer in union with Him. I now can't imagine life without my Mother.

What a beautiful, sincere plea from your heart! If you sincerely ask the Holy Spirit to lead you to thé fullness of truth -- wherever that leads -- that prayer will surely be answered. I highly recommend all books and articles by Dr. Scott Hahn. He was once a very anti-Catholic Presbyterian minister. In his quest to convert Catholics, he began studying Church history, the early Church Fathers, Church documents, etc. and also discovered many portions of the Bible habitually overlooked, misunderstood, or improperly minimized by most Protestants. Both hé and his wife, Kimberley, entered the Catholic Church over 30 years ago. Scott is now a renowned Bible scholar, Bible professor, speaker, writer, evangelist, and apologist. Kimberley is very well known in her own right for much of the same. I would start by reading their book Rome Sweet Home, which tells their conversion story. I would especially recommend Scott's incredibly beautiful book on Mary, titled Hail Holy Queen. And check out Dr. Hahn's website for his St. Paul Center for Biblical Theology. He teaches at the Franciscan University of Steubenville in Steubenville, Ohio. I will pray for you! 😊🙏

      Jn 8:56
Your father Abraham rejoiced at the thought of seeing my day; he saw it and was glad.”
      Luke 9:28-36 NIV:
      The Transfiguration
28 About eight days after Jesus said this, he took Peter, John and James with him and went up onto a mountain to pray.
29 As he was praying, the appearance of his face changed, and his clothes became as bright as a flash of lightning.
30 Two men, Moses and Elijah, appeared in glorious splendor, talking with Jesus.
31 They spoke about his departure,[a] which he was about to bring to fulfillment at Jerusalem.
32 Peter and his companions were very sleepy, but when they became fully awake, they saw his glory and the two men standing with him.
33 As the men were leaving Jesus, Peter said to him, “Master, it is good for us to be here. Let us put up three shelters-one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah.” (He did not know what he was saying.)
34 While he was speaking, a cloud appeared and covered them, and they were afraid as they entered the cloud.
35 A voice came from the cloud, saying, “This is my Son, whom I have chosen; listen to him.”
36 When the voice had spoken, they found that Jesus was alone. The disciples kept this to themselves and did not tell anyone at that time what they had seen.

      You’re missing something very critical:
How is it that Jesus spoke to the dead - & Peter, James, & John witnessed this, & it wasn’t occult?
Something great is happening before your eyes in Scripture, & you’re not even seeing it!
      Look at Rev 5:8.
In taking on flesh & sacrificing Himself for us, God bridged heaven & earth! He condescended to become one of us out of love for us that we might share in His glory & have everlasting life as spiritually adopted children of God in accordance with Scripture.
In being united to Christ in baptism, we are being conformed to Christ. We are united to Him as He is united to the Father. We partake of His divine nature in becoming spiritually adopted sons & daughters of God, & yes, we do become immortal.
See 1 Cor 15 if you doubt.
The terms for this are divinization - theosis - deification.
      And, yes, it is Scriptural.
      🤔

One beautiful piece of insight a brother once shared about Mary with was about the fifth commandment. We almost always only hear or recognize the first part, Honor your Father and Mother. But there’s more to it. The second half of the commandment states “ that thy days be long in the land that the Lord God has given thee”.
Only one apostle was not martyred, John the desciple Jesus loved. The desciple to whom he gave his mother to while on the cross. John honored and cared for our Mother for the rest of her life, and he was blessed not to see death at the hands of persecutors but lived a long productive life proclaiming the Gospel of God.

I hear you Keith. I grew up in the Baptist Church and now Catholic, and even I get annoyed at seeing 1 Timothy 2:5 used all the time by our Protestant brothers and sisters who don’t know what that scripture is actually talking about.
Jesus is our only mediator to God because as the Son of God and Son of Man, he’s our literal bridge and covenant to God the Father. We as human beings only have access to God the Father BECAUSE of Jesus-without Jesus there is no relationship between the Father and mankind. Not a covenantal relationship, anyway.
Therefore, what Protestants don’t understand, is that we ask Mary and the saints to pray for us…TO JESUS. Even if we pray to the Father and never mention Jesus’s name, in the end it still goes to and through Jesus, because he blatantly said “no one comes to the Father except THROUGH me.” But we can ask the saints and others to pray for us to Jesus and we are encouraged to do so, because all of us on Heaven and Earth, are family in the body of Christ.
It really shouldn’t be that difficult to understand this. God bless all brothers and sisters in Christ but for crying out loud, stop weaponzing 1 Timothy 2:5 and taking it ouy of context people 🤦‍♂️

    • @stephenwilson0386
      @stephenwilson0386 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

All due respect, where is the scripture that instructs us to ask Mary or anyone else to pray to Jesus on our behalf? Jesus is our mediator, therefore I pray to Jesus. Mary was just as human as you and me. Jesus demonstrates praying directly to the Father in the Lord's Prayer (Matthew 6:9). So why would I need to even think about Mary, or Paul, or Moses, or anyone else when I pray to God? Mary had an important role just like those people and made herself available to be used by God, but she was human like everyone else and does not deserve an elevated position. Show me scripture that says otherwise.

    • @bobizzle1605
      @bobizzle1605 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

@@stephenwilson0386 I can indeed show you scripture that Mary is arguably the greatest creature God ever created brother.
As for showing you scripture that says to ask the saints and Mary to pray for us, this is a straw man fallacy that protestants use that is very weak and disingenuous, and this is coming from someone who grew up in the Baptist Church. And that’s the problem with sola scriptura-the idea that every truth about God is “solely in scripture and anything else that’s practiced that isn’t explicitly in scripture is blasphemous and damning” is unfounded and is itself, not even scriptural. I challenge you, show many any scriptural proof, that the Bible says that if something isn’t explicitly written down, it’s blasphemous. Show me any scriptural verse that says only the Bible is authoritative and nothing else including tradition is from God. Show me. And please, do not bring up 2 Timothy 3:16-17, that does not win the debate for you. All that scripture says, is that scripture is God breathed and sufficient to teach the faith, which is true and Catholics don’t even deny this-the Bible alone can accurately let someone know the foundations of Christianity. However, that scripture does NOT say that only the Bible is God breathed, or that oral traditions can’t enrich a person’s faith.

    • @dantelepanto
      @dantelepanto 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

@stephenwilson0386 Jesus didn't limit our prayers. He was answering a question with a wonderful example.
      Luke 11:
1One day in a place where Jesus had just finished praying, one of His disciples requested, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.”
As early as Genesis intersessory prayer is commanded by the same God.
      Abraham intersessory prayer:
Gen 20:7 Now therefore restore the man his wife; for he is a prophet, and he shall pray for thee, and thou shalt live: and if thou restore her not, know thou that thou shalt surely die, thou, and all that are thine.
Job 42:8 Therefore take unto you now seven bullocks and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and my servant Job shall pray for you: for him will I accept: lest I deal with you after your folly, in that ye have not spoken of me the thing which is right, like my servant Job.
There is Jeremiah(deceased) praying for Isreal in 2 Maccabees 15:14 Onias then said of him, “This is a man who loves his fellow Jews and fervently prays for the people and the holy city-the prophet of God, Jeremiah.”
The Jewish Talmud(a collection of their rabbinic tradition) has praying to those they believe are with God for intersession. For Example:
      Berashit(Genesis) Rabbah 82
Another matter, “Rachel died, and was buried on the way to Efrat” - what did Jacob see that led him to bury Rachel on the way to Efrat? It is because Jacob foresaw that the exiles were destined to pass there. This is why he buried her there, so she would ask for mercy upon them. That is what is written: “A voice is heard in Rama, wailing, bitter weeping, Rachel weeping for her children” (Jeremiah 31:15).
So praying to Living Saints and to Heavenly Saints are an ancient practice. That precedes Christianity and was continued in the New Covenant.
Why Mary has such an exalted position in intersessory prayer is a talk that depends on whether you believe Jesus is God.Not a god But the Second Person of The Holy Trinity who became man. And is He your brother and is He your King.

@@bobizzle1605 Mary was Jesus' mother, the same way your mother and my mother are our mothers. She was called by God to bear and raise Jesus, and was a tremendous person to take on that responsibility. That does NOT, however, raise her to a level above any other human. The problem with the Catholic church's view of Mary is that they make her to be more than human, and in some ways on par with God. Have you actually read the official statements of the RCC? The "immaculate conception" is nonsense, and Mary herself refutes it - if she were without sin, why in The Magnificat would she call Jesus her savior (Luke 1:46-47)? If she was sinless, she wouldn't need a savior. Many other scriptures clearly states that no human has ever been free from sin apart from Jesus.
Sola Scriptura is the truth, though you mischaracterize it. There is nothing wrong with Christian books and music and other media that help people to better understand the meaning and application of scripture. That is NOT the same as many of the Catholic church's traditions, which literally ADD to the gospel more requirements and frankly, more confusion. Jesus rebuked the Pharisees for the same thing, because they had added rules and regulations and "traditions" on top of what God had revealed.
I'm not naive enough to think I'll sway anyone's opinion here, so I'm not interested in some drawn out debate in a TH-cam comment section. I would just strongly suggest examining your beliefs on your own, and take a critical look at them. Confirmation bias is a powerful thing.
