How to make Cat Condo - Part 2 😻

Hope you were okay after watching me dancing.. 😂
Yumee and Rylee were excited of their newly renovated cat condo. I added more clips with the finished product and with the fur babies as well.
Here are the materials I used in the video.
- Used corrugated box/ balik-bayan box.
- 6 pcs Pringles. (finish them first. 😂)
- lots of hot glue (approx. 6-10 packs. 6pcs/pack) 🏷️
- 2 faux fur blankets🏷️
-20 m rope🏷️
-1 roll of twine🏷️
- stones /sand (to fill inside the Pringles, 1/4 in each cans).
- 1 pc bamboo chop stick (or use any stick that can be bend a little, so that the 3rd layer doesn't wiggle too much in case 1 cat is playing and the other cat sleeps on top).
- Recycled paper tube from vynil. (you can use the inner tissue rolls but make sure they are hard enough then just glue them together to get the height you need.
*Basics:
- Scissors
- Cutter
- Glue gun
- Pen / Pencil
- Ruler ( I prefer 1 clear and/or 1 metal ruler for cutting guide if needed)
*Optional:
- yarn for the fluffy toy (see link below) 🏷️
- bell
- or simply roll the excess twine for cat toy and add feather or anything safe for your cats).
Items with this tag emoji 🏷️ were bought from the store. Other materials were existing / recycled.
Blanket : ₱ 169 x 2 = ₱ 338
Hot glue: ₱ 21 x 10 = ₱ 210
Rope : ₱ 45 x 2 = ₱ 90
Twine : ₱ 70 x 1 = ₱ 70

TOTAL = ₱ 708
That's the estimated cost of this project. 🙂
If you have existing blankets that you don't use anymore, you can use it to your DIY Cat Condo to avoid buying a new one. 😅

*TWINE - The SM Store (SM Department store, school supplies section). Or check your trusted online shops like shopee or Lazada for thicker Twines which is better)
*FAUX FUR BLANKET - Surplus, SM City (mall) or you can also check online shops (shopee / Lazada).

Cat condo here in the Philippines usually cost ₱ 1,600 for the simple design (online) with at least 2 layers. Some cost ₱5,000 and up depends on the design. Hope this will help you. 😊

Oh this looks great, I just saw part 1 and didn’t realise part 2 was there, I commented about adding string or ropes and some weight in it which you have already done now, haha. Looks great, love the use of the blanket to cover it, great idea.

Yes, I also added some small stones in the pringles for a bit sturdy feel for the cats, so, it won't wiggle that much. And some string/twine for them to scratch on. 😀

I still have it. as long as you have light weight cats i guess. 😅 The second layer, i added extra corrugated carton at the bottom with opposite direction.

That long roll of cardboard I used was literally a garbage I picked up on the side of the road. lol. It seems it was a roll from a vinyl (for printing shirts) or a possible roll from a gift wrap.
If you cannot find one, you can just connect your used Bathroom Tissue Rolls using a packaging tape. Make sure the tissue rolls were sturdy enough/thick to support the other layer. Hope this one helps. :D

What is the blue cloth, brown rope, black rope, and the flooring called?
It is in the description.
Blue cloth : Faux fur blanket.
Rope : regular rope but i recommend a twine.
Flooring? The carton box? Or the carpet? If you are talking about the carpet, that was just a 2nd hand carpet from an old office cut into 50x50 cm.

Hello po! Opo makulit at malambing yang si Yumee. ginagawa akong unan nyan pag gabi. hahaha
Days po sa pag gawa nito? Kaya po in one day kahit pagsamahin po yung part 1 and part 2 nitong video. Yun nga lang po sa part 1 nito nag paint ako at sabi ng ibang viewers 'wag daw mag paint baka may chemicals na ma scratch nila ay makain. kaya sa part 2 binalutan ko na po nitong faux fur na kumot. hehe
From the day na naupload po nandito pa din iyan at gamit nila. 'Yun nga lang 'di masyado stable sa 3rd layer kaya 'di siguro masyado tinatambayan, maipis yung base na pinagdikitan ko. Planning to renovate this soon. hehe. 1st and 2nd layer lang po tambayan nila.
Yung bamboo na chopstick nagtagal din nmn ng ilang months, last month or November siguro nabali, di ko po sure kung pusa nakasira or baka may nakasagi na tao, kasi kaya naman yung weight nila kahit hatakin po ng mga fur babies e, besides matibay yung bamboo po. hehe
Yung paa (pringles) ng 2nd later naalis po kasi yung balik bayan box may mga scotch tape na naka-dikit kaya naging smooth yung surface at di umabot ng year. pero if direct sa board baka di na kailangan pang ayusin ulit. Madali lang naman po idikit ulit using hot glue.
Bale 10 months parang 75%-70% na lang po condition niyan. hahaha. Kung 2 layers lang po gagawin baka magtagal lalo at kung hindi po malalaki yung mga cats na alaga ninyo. hehe
Maganda po 'yan kung plyboard gamitin n'yo. matibay sigurado. hehe. naipon lang po kasi mga carton dito during pandemic kaya naisipang gumawa nyan. hehe :3
Salamat po sa pagtambay dito. Balik po kayo minsan baka gawa ako ulit ng panibago. hehe

yes bro. Yung gamit kong karton dyan ay yuung balik-bayan box kaya medyo makapal. meron din naman mga local boxes minsan sa grocery. if manipis nahahanap mo pwd naman siguro doblehin na lang, pero if magaan lng mga pusa mo bka kaya na kahit di na doblehin.
Pwede rin po ito kahiy para mas matibay
Yes po. Mas okay po kung kahoy. Pero if tipid tipid lang po at if di naman kabigatan mga pusa nyo, pwede na po karton na matibay. Idea lang po itong vlog sa mga madaming may karton or tight budget tulad namin. 😅
Baka soon po, gawa ako using plywood at mga PVC Tubes. 🙂

Paano po kapag bumaho na ang tela? Jow to cleannit or to remove pdprs?
Salamat po sa tanong. Sa totoo lang din po di sya pwede basain since carton po ang base. I recommend po na wag nyo na lang po lagyan ng tela para in case madumihan or masira, easy to replace at di po magastos..
Unless po meron kayong extra materials for zipper at lagyan lang ng garter yung mga pwede matanggalan ng cover (except po siguro sa mga posts na may permanent strings). Pero yung idea na'to need po ng extra effort.
Salamat po sa idea. Try ko mag gawa ng separate pet bed na may natatanggal na cover soon. Since may natira pa pong retaso from cat condo. 😊
Sa ngayon po, pag may dumi na cat sand. Hanggang pagpag or walis walis lang po muna. Madalas po kasi nasa ilalim na part sila kasi mainit po panahon ngayon, kaya di ko na din po linagyan ng carton sa pinaka baba kasi alam ko po gusto din nila yung lamig na galing sa sahig. Gusto lang po nila magtago madalas sa loob dahil mas madilim. 😅

-10 packs ng hot glue (6pcs per pack) (more or less)
-Rope 10M (2 pcs) (sa MR. DIY)
-Twine 1 roll (70 pesos) SM Dept store school supplies.
Optional:
-Yarn. 1 roll. (konti lang nagamit, depende sa trip nyong kapal ng cat toy.
