Manihiki is a picture perfect Pacific atoll. Very unique and stunningly remote islands to be found in the Cook Islands. Some of the most beautiful I have ever seen!

Why do so many Polys leave their beautiful islands for a crap life in Auckland or Sydney?

Cool video, but why would you publish this? Why would you want to contribute to tourism here, to encourage hotel development, to encourage jetskis and dependent locals and roads and development to one of earth's last paradises? Why would you want to ruin it? #dontnametheplace

Hello, thanks for the visit and for sharing your thoughts. I agree that certain places should remain somewhat of a "secret"...especially those which are easily accessible to travelers. This island is one of the most remote places on Earth (check out Manihiki on the map). Difficult to access (and not cheap) and too small and remote for any sort of mass tourism. However, they do welcome sustainable tourism there, and those who have visited have discovered a wonderful little island and its very endearing locals. I did this project in partnership with the official Cook Islands Tourism Board and their national airline, Air Rarotonga. Their goal was to raise some awareness of their "outer islands". But due to it's isolated location, Manihiki will remain as it always has been and will happily welcome the more ambitious and intrepid travelers who take the time and effort to get there. :)
