This is NOT a 1955 Mercedes 300, which would have been a 300c and did NOT have the pillar-less styling. This is a 1957-62 300D. The headlights and optional leather upholstery mark it as a U.S. delivered car. This car might be the1958 Don Loper car. Loper was a Beverly Hills clothing designer. He started out as a dancer and choreographer. He is famous for a Hollywood-themed "I LOVE Lucy" episode. At his death, in 1972, this car, or one exactly like it was advertised for sale in Los Angeles for $4,700!
