Don't know if anyone has commented yet, but if you have the VIN and serial number (as accessed in this video), Honda's website has a search option for finding the code. Took me 30 seconds to get it, now I'm back to rockin' some thrash metal.
My code was in my glove box taped to the bottom front. I never would have thought of looking if I hadn't seen your comment. I was already on my last "error code" try, and would have been locked out if I entered another wrong code. Thanks!!
@@maskedmarvyl4774 if you get locked out all you have to do is disconnect the battery again and it will give you the option to enter the code again. Peace

As it turned out my cd's were in the back of a 10x15 foot storage unit so all that time I listened to about four cd's over and over, they weren't even my favorites. Two weeks ago I cleared out that storage unit and piled the passenger side of the car with over a hundred cd's! I was so elated. Then two days ago I left the trunk partially open for 48 hours and the battery died. I was devastated when the cd player would not work! What, just when I was listening to my collection that had been in storage for over a year! NO NO NO!!! Then I found your video and OMG not only does the cd player now work but the clock and the radio works!!!!!!!!!!! I don't understand why or how the cd player was working and not the radio and clock? That's ok, it is all working now and I know what to do in the future! I am so grateful! Thank you very much!! 🥰
Thank you so much for making this video. I didn't think anything was really broken because the clock worked but the CD player and the radio did not after I replaced the battery. When I called Honda to see what was wrong, they said it was going to cost almost $400 for them to just look at it. I just fixed myself in 2 minutes thanks to you taking the time to put this video up.💜💙💚
Ah, great. I had relied on the sticker on the manual for years, but I lost it sometime in the past 2-3 years. The key I was missing was holding the buttons down at the same time as the power-on. Honda's recovery system didn't tell me that, nor did the dealer where I bought the car 12 years ago.

I’ve tried all of this on my Automatic Transmission 2011 model. I ve got my numbers but the radio display does not light up at all. This happened when my battery cut out and had to be jumped started. Also, now I have to insert my key in the door lock as it doesn’t work when I try to unlock from a distance. Can you offer any advise before I go to a dealer who is not local. I found my “audio code” on the first page of the maintenance log found with my owners manual in the glove box. When the dealership performs the predelivery check list, there is a blank space for the audio code.

I had the same problem. Then I tried pushing the Volume button in before entering the numbers and, suddenly, my radio was playing. (This may have been pure coincidence. I haven't a technical bone in my body. I'd tried several times the day before and might have exceeded the 10-try limit.)
Code only worked when I put the car in "run," not all the way on and ready to drive. The code is only five digits. If it is longer, it is probably the radio s/n. Call a dealership or a mechanic that works on Hondas and get the radio code.
I used the Honda website to retrieve my code by entering my VIN # and serial # -- but the code I got back has a "9" and a "7" in it. How do I enter a digit that isn't 1-6?
i have the code but it's not working. it says enter C when u turn it on and then as u type the code it spells out code (doesnt show #s) then says error. i'm guessing it should say enter code not c before u start

Crap. This happened to me. Battery replaced by CAA... prompted to enter code. I have the card, safely kept for almost 11 years. The display tells me "error"! I tried 4 times. And it tells me how many erros I have made.
Still not working??? Found a solution my radio screen is totally messed up and doesnt display much 😑 soo normally it will display ERROR . What u have to do is diconnect the black cable on yohr battery for 3 minutes. This will reset the radio. Then type in your code and everything should work fine

It also has the code inside the glove compartment you have to open the glove box and on the left side is a sticker with the 5 digit code on it

It does not have Bluetooth and probably wouldn't work with a phone
I wish the video I used to replace my battery had mentioned the code, lol.
Lucked out and still had the code card with the manual in the glove box. Cool tip to see the S/N # regardless.
If anytime in the future just start the car then disconnect the battery as long as the car is on your radio will not loose it’s memory
