Unboxing 2017 Buick Encore - Hot Selling Small Crossover Just Got Even Better

- For our latest unboxing review we have for you the 2017 Buick Encore subcompact crossover, which has just been given a mid-life update for this year. Let's just get straight to the point: the Encore is better than ever thanks to Buick's smart updates inside and out. Compared to last year's model, the new one features an updated front grille design, headlights, and taillights. The interior, just as importantly, has an all-new dashboard design with plenty of soft-touch materials throughout, thus upping the premium factor.
Our tester, an almost but not quite base model Preferred trim, came powered by the standard engine, which we don't recommend: a turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder with 138 hp and 148 lb-ft of torque, with power going to the front wheels through a six-speed automatic. Again, don't get this engine. It's slow. Like 0-60 mph in 9.3 seconds snail slow. What you want, and it doesn't cost much more, is the new and more powerful 1.4-liter turbo (yes, came number of liters, but still a different engine) with 153 hp and 177 lb-ft of twist. Buyers can also opt for all-wheel drive for an extra $2,875. We can't think of a reason why this updated Encore won't continue being a huge success for Buick. Enjoy the review!

Best compact SUV in the segment with a longer warranty than most and one of the quietest, smoothest ride quality.
Luxury is in the eye of the beholder, I think of my Encore Essence as my palace.

I actually do think this could be considered luxury it has the clasy look of a luxury car and almost all the materials are soft touch or leather and it is quite and feels very nice it's on the lower end of the luxury range

Buick Encore is the best compact SUV. Test drove the Honda HRV and the interior was definitely not premium or luxury. Moreover, you want to talk slow? The HRV is a 4 cylinder with NO turbo option. The HRV ride is choppy and noisy. But the Encore is whisper quiet when in motion and the interiors blows any other compact SUV out of water. With rebates, you can get it for less than a HRV.
my ecosport is a little champ too. but yeah as soon as i saw the encore i was like thats so cool.
but yeah the toyota has the dreaded CVT pulley transmission.

Dude this vehicle is luxury. This car is elegant for me and my friends who love it. It’s much bigger in height than the small Mercedes crossover (its nose front too low). I disagree on your remark on this Buick. I HAVE A ENCORE GX ST and it’s gorgeous and I get a Lot of compliments. You need to redo your video.

I like your vids....very thorough. Keep it up. On issue, however, and you are not the only one to make this error in the car reviewing video world. The use of the word leatherette (literally, small or little leather in standard english). There is no such thing. Car seats may be cloth or synthetic cloth, real leather (only real animal skins used) or plastic/vinyl. Leatherette is a misnomer. I would hope all journalists, which is what you are reporting on cars, strive for accuracy.

A better term will be pleather. Like most all Mercedes and BMW and other high end cars use and call it some fancy name like MB TEX or whatever. Plastic LEATHER is what it is. Immitation, the look of leather but it's not really leather. SOUNDS SO much better than PLASTIC.
Do you think they could sell those Mercedes and BMW's to everyone if they posted on the trim level Plastic interior or VINYL?
I would bet most people driving those cars today do not even know they do not have real leather but plastic seats. There is a hugeeeeeeeeee premium to those cars as a option to get their actual leather seats.
I do not disagree that manufacturers charging mightily for their cars would have a hard go of it if their seats were advertised as plastic or vinyl instead of pleather or some other such nonsense. My comments were simply to all reviewers out there who continue to aid the car makers in their mis-naming. I believe the viewing public is owed the truth however unpalatable. Plastic by any other name is still plastic, or vinyl . Apologies to mr. Shakespeare.
