I've watched every one of your videos and for not being a pro painter or bodyman and being a carpenter that truck is absolutely amazing. You have done a magnificent job . Keep up your great work.
Looks great man, took my bedwood and bed off today. I’m gonna copy those hidden bolts like you did there. Thanks for pointing that out. I appreciate your videos, they have helped build my confidence to tear into my 64.
Looks great! Glad to hear you put clear on both sides. In woodworking they refer to that as creating balance. Wood moves constantly with climate and you can't prevent it. With both sides sealed it will stay as stable as possible. I see people only do one side and then the board cups and they wonder why. You are to be commended on your discipline of doing things right all the way through. Now look what you have.
+19stoney64 yea man I hope this Stan stays on for a good while I know I'll have to do it agin some day but that's just the way it goes thanks for watching
always wanted to do some of the things you do but work never let me. Was a fire fighter but about 9 months ago decided to have me a widow maker lol (not my choice ) so they retired me at age 47. Retirement really sucks this way but i left this place four times and was sent back four times guess they don't need me yet. i just want to say i'm with you when wrenching and welding and because of my pace maker i can't learn to weld any more. so sorry if i get in your way once in awhile god bless you have you finished the blue one Thanks again
Getting close to firing it up still got some more wiring to do should have a video up soon on the start up and drive.thanks again and merry Christmas to you and you family
Now that looks awesome. You did good. I love that color of stain. I use minwax on all of my furniture I make. I plan on a wood floor for my ford ranger I will have to some cutting and dress work before I order the wood and rails. Anyway bro good job!
always enjoy the updates and your beautiful '63.... what are your plans for it when you're completed? Will you enjoy all that hard word and drive her? Thanks for sharing and showing the results of hard work and perseverance....
This may be a dumb question, did the wood make the bed sit up an inch higher than the stock steel bed? I have a 59 F100 fleetside that I want to put a wood bed in and it'll sit between the fenders and not around.
Six years later, I'm wishing you well with that outstanding work you've done to your '63 Shortie. Looks stunning! I have a '65 Short-Fleet here in AZ and, like you, I ordered an Oak bed wood kit from Mar-K. QUESTION: Does their wood require protective coat(s) of sealant, or was that just your decision? I just want to make sure I don't miss a critical step. Once again, perfect restoration, Gibson! Wondering if you finished the turn-downs, as my experience has been excessive droning sound inside the cab. Best wishes with your honey!
That's a great looking fuel tank. Did you calculate or test its capacity yet? Also, did you put any baffles or anything inside of it and, if not, can you hear it sloshing around (probably drowned out by those echoing turndown pipes :-).
Dude, From the video when you were grinding that sheet of steel out to this one, I swear it don't seem like it's even possible to be the same truck, simply unbelievable How much money did it cost you to take it this far? Thanks amigo.
great Job, iam thinking about doing wood floor on my 69 c10, the problem is i have metal now, and my truck is allready painted, iam thinking i might do some damage to the Paint Job, is there somebody who could give me an Idia?
Your welcome, and you are right . There are some really nice trucks out there. Some with great HP Engines, corporate sponsored bells and whistles, but even the "big boys" will notice the honesty and integrity that this truck holds. This is really a nice truck.... Thanks for posting....
Beautiful truck Gibby. It shows your passion for the unit and your attention to detail man. Stunning. The bed floor looks awesome. Great job.

Your truck is a perfect example of how time, patience, hard work, and attention to details can transform a vehicle.

Beautiful restoration. This is top notch stuff, better than most professionally built rides. Thank you for sharing with us.
It's amazing how someone can restore a truck back to original but make it 100 times the truck it ever was!
Nice looking truck.
