I can't express how grateful I am to have found your content. You've got such a thorough grasp of fundamentals and can communicate them in a very straightforward And helpful way. Not to boast, but I'm a pretty decent poet and a lot of these techniques can feel like second nature and difficult to explain. You do a great job of showing how things that seem abstract and mystical can be communicated with poetry and lyrics. Countless great tips! Gonna check out the rest of your content!

Interesting you mentioning it seems like the narrator is talking about murder because I thought that the narrator was hinting about murdering his wife in the song, No Time to Think, from the album Street Legal, released in 1978.

I love this series. It's the first time I've thought about the art of lyric writing - and it is an art. It gives you the tools to use, like the diatonic scale - but not a formula - because there is no formula.

If you are interested in who the people are I will tell you. It is Mr. jones who pays in blood. He is the answer that is blowing in the wind. In Long and narrow way Bob is singing to him knowing that he went through Hell. Hell is his Wife’s Hometown. “I saw you buried and I saw you dug up” There is bitterness on the part of Mr. jones owing to Two Timing Slim being the pony Lucifer who broke her leg and needed shooting from song New Pony. Two timing Slim was waiting for the miracle “If you don’t believe there’s a price for this sweet paradise just remind me to show you the scars” the song long and wasted years is Mr. Jones reply to Bob. Keep in mind Song God Knows by Bob where he acknowledges that it should have lasted just a season and that Mr. Jones has plenty of reason to be pissed. Playing the low cards is of course from shoe shine who marked your cards and moved your mountains. Listen to Dylan’s “Hallelujah I’ve just been moved” listen to Pancho and Lefty to Learn of his one slim Chance and that was his relationship with Jane who was Mr. Jones friend which his cowardliness caused him to doubt.
He himself was of no importance (see Mark Knophler Matchstick Man than what he did to Joan Baez who had made promises to Mr. Jones (aka Black Rider) (Aka Jack the Lad by John Martyn) (Aka “I am the big Easy” Jennifer Warnes) (Aka You are The Lucky one by Allison Krauss (Aka Jack by Ray Charles “You can call me Ray from Dylan song Serve somebody.
The name Mr Jones comes from Joseph Conrad’s “Victory” where Mr.Jones is also known as the thin man and is on a boat with the False Prophet who he has to defeat and take the boat through the Tempest to the Island where Shakespeare situated his play called The Tempest. A stop along the way was in a fishing boat outside of Delacroix. See painting by Delacroix called The Tempest to see the watchman sleeping.
Anyway that might be some steps that can help guide you through the fog you are in. The story is a lot longer. There were only Two people present during the Chimes Of Freedom. Bob and we five. Obviously five believers.

Does "Macbeth" influence this work in the sense of murder as an artistic proposition to verify your right to exist?

      Very interesting question!

In the sense that the Macbeth writer is also creating a façade to talk about something and hide it in plain sight
      Same as Bob does
