I didn’t even know or see it was a taser and donut didn’t either. It was a quick cursory glance, which is why he also says it looks like he has him at gun point. It is understandable why he’d also think the officer had lethal on him since the suspect has stolen now a second vehicle, with weapons, and if it’s anything like the ones I was in previously, has a shotgun in the center unlocked. It was also never communicated for us to hear that one would maintain non lethal while the remaining held their lethal. It was probably a private discussion amongst each other. But I can see how it appears to be a very biased question if the guy was physically unarmed and had really no knowledge of the contents of the vehicles prior to stealing them.
As a note; I was a ride along when in the police vehicle. And it was with a Florida sheriffs department. The local police department, I rode with, I don’t believe had shotguns in the center.

The officer who "didn't shoot him" is actually holding a yellow weapon. So he probably attempted to deploy a less than lethal weapon but it was ineffective. You can see the same officer who didn't shoot, yank the electrical wires from his weapon right after the suspect drives off so it's a certainty he fired his weapon. He probably did exactly the right thing under the circumstances.
Until the criminal spins out into oncoming traffic and takes out a family traveling in opposite direction. Luckily that was not the case in this situation but cops hesistance to shoot dangerous suspects commonly results in loss of innocent lives. And lets be honest there is 1 reason he was not immidiatly shot.

True - but to be fair, shooting him to death there wouldn't have been right either. The reaction speed of those officers was pretty bad since he ran right by them all and any of them could've tackled him or the K9 officer could've let the dog go - which other officers even yelled but he didn't listen. Also, instead of holding a gun to his head, the officer could've pulled him out of the car or taken the taser out of he had enough time.

Personally I don't like the decision not to shoot. Today no one got hurt, but countless other scenarios lead to people dying or being affected for life because the officer did not end the threat when he had the chance. Decades ago this kind of stuff did not happen. Situations were resolved fairly quickly and with little manpower/equipment. Criminals did not play these games, because no one played with them.

Between the optics of shooting an unarmed man as well as that crossfire I think not shooting was the right call. It looks like they had the highway clear, officers ahead, and a swarm behind him. I think other than not locking the cruiser doors or potentially deploying a taser (which wouldn’t have worked, but you get points for attempting) this was handled about as well as could be expected.

I understand if they're just not pulling over, but if they're crashing, jumping out stealing cop cars, crashing, repeat they need to be shot, and stopped before someone innocent gets killed. Every cop there looks like they all hopped out of a clown car, and need better training.
In the academy I went through, during scenarios, we had points marked off for leaving the cruiser unlocked. I guess they don't do that in Florida.

Was looking for this comment and For someone that finds all the details for his video he didn’t mention he had a taser when you can clearing see it and went straight to the “didn’t shoot” comment was basically forced in their when it wasn’t the right situation too a bit biased but of course if he had reach for any weapon shoot him no doubt
I didn’t even know or see it was a taser and donut didn’t either. It was a quick cursory glance, which is why he also says it looks like he has him at gun point. It is understandable why he’d also think the officer had lethal on him since the suspect has stolen now a second vehicle, with weapons, and if it’s anything like the ones I was in previously, has a shotgun in the center unlocked. It was also never communicated for us to hear that one would maintain non lethal while the remaining held their lethal. It was probably a private discussion amongst each other. But I can see how it appears to be a very biased question if the guy was physically unarmed and had really no knowledge of the contents of the vehicles prior to stealing them.
As a note; I was a ride along when in the police vehicle. And it was with a Florida sheriffs department. The local police department, I rode with, I don’t believe had shotguns in the center.

I notice in some/most of his videos he’s biased like he hasn’t even made the crazy ups shooting and says “im gonna need more information” but not the other videos that didn’t need a 2nd look. The officer who "didn't shoot him" is actually holding a yellow weapon. So he probably attempted to deploy a less than lethal weapon but it was ineffective. You can see the same officer who didn't shoot, yank the electrical wires from his weapon right after the suspect drives off so it's a certainty he fired his weapon. He probably did exactly the right thing under the circumstances.
Until the criminal spins out into oncoming traffic and takes out a family traveling in opposite direction. Luckily that was not the case in this situation but cops hesistance to shoot dangerous suspects commonly results in loss of innocent lives. And lets be honest there is 1 reason he was not immidiatly shot.

@@mazda323lx probably france judging by the name. In europe we have speed cams everywhere. Police don't bother to chase or to stop you, you just receive your fine a few days later. Kinda sucks but i think it's way better than having an officer clock you from their car radar and then chase you to stop you and give you a fine. It's 2021 after all.

True - but to be fair, shooting him to death there wouldn't have been right either. The reaction speed of those officers was pretty bad since he ran right by them all and any of them could've tackled him or the K9 officer could've let the dog go - which other officers even yelled but he didn't listen.
Also, instead of holding a gun to his head, the officer could've pulled him out of the car or taken the taser out of he had enough time.

But I agree that it wasn't the right decision in this scenario. I agree the cop didn't handle it well, but a shooting here would have been lawful.

Dumb, it just creates another police chase where an innocent can be hurt.
Personally I don't like the decision not to shoot. Today no one got hurt, but countless other scenarios lead to people dying or being affected for life because the officer did not end the threat when he had the chance. Decades ago this kind of stuff did not happen. Situations were resolved fairly quickly and with little manpower/equipment. Criminals did not play these games, because no one played with them.

Between the optics of shooting an unarmed man as well as that crossfire I think not shooting was the right call. It looks like they had the highway clear, officers ahead, and a swarm behind him. I think other than not locking the cruiser doors or potentially deploying a taser (which wouldn’t have worked, but you get points for attempting) this was handled about as well as could be expected.
The floridaman was at the cop's arms' reach. I wonder if the latter could've just punched him instead of messing with the taser?
