This was great. I decided to search for how should churches incorporate discord and your video came up after a AI summary. Awesome sause and thank you.!
We use Discord at my church for camera operators, security, greaters, children's ministry etc. I made our server last month 😁 the hardest part is selling the name "discord".
@@Blackbar that could be easy ..Isaiah 5:20 Living Bible 20 They say that what is right is wrong and what is wrong is right; that black is white and white is black; bitter is sweet and sweet is bitter. Maybe discord can assist The Church in getting on one accord? like non fiction .
We have android Trac phones mounted on the camera, with vmix tally and Discord running in a split screen app. We found one ear headsets that have a microphone toggle on the cable. We set discord to voice activity so when you toggle the microphone button on the cable to on it will activate your mic in the discord server.
Hoping to have a discord server for youth pastors and people serving in youth ministry. Started a server for my youth group about two years ago and it has been great.
One suggestion! Make the server you were showing into a template so churches can build on what you've shared. This can be done through the server settings.
Thank you so much! I have been using Discord for a long time for gaming, and only recently moved our youth to discord. This motivates me to do even more for the rest of the congregation!
Sounds great 😁 👍 Thank you, I like this. From Admin point of view.. what happens if numerous people setup usernames that are 'generic'? How do you and others know who people are? Any tips?
You could probably go about it one of two ways: 1. Just ask them! If they're part of your congregation, they shouldn't have a problem revealing who they are. 2. Maybe make a "real names only" rule in your discord server. Users are able to set up a nickname in each server they're in, (and you can even change it for them) so it shouldn't be too hard to get everyone on the same page.

I'd suggest just calling it your "online campus" that HAPPENS to be on a platform called Discord.
Though I'd agree, it is a hurdle...

I’ve been interested in doing this, do users provide their own phone or do you provide a fire tablet or raspberry pi for your A/V team.

Thanks for the great tips on using Discord for ministry man.
I'd like to know the best way to have those in my server watch a live stream.

Mom! I made it to a famous video!!
Would you say discord is better for "many to many communication" than the other social media platforms mentioned?
@Bruhxston seems efficient have thr lovely day
No, your church should NOT start a discord server
and why.....?
