Really makes you miss the years before 2012, where it feels like 71% or 75% of video games were really loved and good. Meanwhile in today's world that number feels like it's at 12.5% And games that feel rushed, locked behind a dumb microtransaction wall, or just horribly simple and with apathetic developers feel like they're 75% of the market.
I’m in a Heat 5 group on Facebook and the amount of grown ass adults who bought this dog shit is absurd. In the nicest way possible, I have two words for Motorsport Games... Im done. I didnt buy the update. I figured the important content creators like WhatIF, Radman, Mrucz and others would buy it and stream it and Id get my info through them. Im not at all shocked that they actually made the game WORSE with the update. If Motorsport Games made another update for free, I would still think it was too much to spend because it would be a waste of my valuable time to play. This company needs to just die. Exactly I still play 05 Chase for the cup on PS2 because it has atrophied woman I love the trophy room the trophy room for the cup trophies has pretty accurate for that point in time and it's awesome. I also love the career mode in 05 Chase for the cup because it's progressive, it's changing the year every single year it starts in 04 and then goes to 05 and so on it's a 20-year career.
I haven't bought a nascar game since 2016 with heat evolution and haven't really played any nascar games besides I guess forza and NR2003. Glad I didn’t waste money on this company
I had faith in MSG for a while, even after Ignition got originally released. That good will is long gone. This company is cancerous (sorry to use that word, but that's exactly what they are) to gaming and motorsport as a whole, and every day that passes without it going out of business is a day lost in the racing game world. And the worst part is that it's not only a NASCAR problem. They somehow made the state of IndyCar gaming somehow even worse (keep in mind, the last proper officially licensed IndyCar game came out in 2005 and even then it's worse now), not only "delaying" an official console game that, let's be honest, will come out in an Ignition-type state if it even comes out; but also took away IndyCar series from iRacing and made a joke out of the virtual 24 hours of Le Mans, and even if it's from a subsidiary studio their WEC game might end up being the same. The only thing I'm thankful for is that those dorks didn't get the F1 license (which they probably tried tbf), cause if they do that there's a shot officially licensed racing videogames die bc of how much of a scam this company is, as well as their constant input to hamper any other gaming product related to the series they have the license to. And Stephen Hood somehow thought it was a good idea to be involved with these people...
Im so disappointed in the nascar community. The fact that people actually brought the DLC and proceed to say that its not bad is absolutely insane. This is why things wont ever change for the better when it comes to not just nascar games but gaming in general. People settle for mediocrity nowadays. These people that brought the DLC are the same people that complain about the games being complete ass but yet you give these guys at motorsportsgames your money....that doesn't make sense at ALL! Stop settling for mediocrity. We deserve way better than what we getting currently.
For me, the phrase "it's not that bad" is based on the needs of the individual. Say you don't have a lot of time on your hands and have other things you need/want to do outside of NASCAR games, maybe they are willing to deal with it.
That's because people are getting lazier as seconds tick away, so they are settling for mediocrity. It's not just in gaming but also in society. People are more willing to use shortcuts to success than having to actually fight for it and change for the better. Up until 2 decades ago people are striving for nothing less than perfection , the biggest reason why even games from 2 decades ago still holds dear to people. Now the "it'll buff out" kind of mentality has lowered and emasculated the mindset of the people and made them lazy. Indirectly to making games, it made people in the industry thinks it's ok to rush the game and even release the unfinished product. Then consistently building and releasing DLCs to make up the unfinished game. It's like if you had a homework given in thursday by your school or your tutor that you had to finish by next monday and you just started it in the night before monday. Then you hurry to finish the homework at school even past the time of submission. Tbh it's kinda lame to use school homeworks as an analogy but that's what it's like.
MSGM is a money laundering front. They burn all the money from their parent companies so none of them have to pay taxes. Only reason I bought dlc was because I originally bought the game late for 9.99, so ive only shelled out 19.99 so far while other nerds bought the gold edition for 69.99 and then 21 ignition champions edition for 89.99. Theres no point in buying games before release anymore when theyre broken and cost 9.99 for christmas 6 months later anyways.
Downloading a ten year old game with some mods being a superior choice to a contemporary game with an active development staff is hilarious to me. Plus the network latency and lobbies are less of a pain in Assetto Corsa as well.
Motorsport Games is emblematic of the entire industry at this point… and tbh the rest of the industries. Corporations are getting record profits while we pay top dollar for worse products, smaller portions, and empty promises, and the CEOs laugh at us while diving into swimming pools of gold like Scrooge McDuck and telling us to blame ourselves for not managing the crumbs we’re given. Don’t blame nascar fans for this, blame corporate America and short term shareholder culture. Also frankly, nascar, IndyCar, BTCC, and WEC/ACO are downright negligent for continuing to put all their eggs in the MSG basket.
Remember MotorSports Games was supposed to come out with the first Indy Car game in over a decade and also owns RFactor 2. I for one was VERY excited for Indy Car and have been on the fence about getting RFactor 2. I just don't want to waste my money.
I'm making my own simulator, by myself, with no pay, and am making sure that everything that I implement is working as intended. And so far, everything is working as intended even though I've been working for a couple of months now on it and just have the results of a WIP mesh generator for spline-based tracks to show for it. So how can a multi-million-dollar studio with many employees getting paid to make a single game result in such terrible products?
I’m pretty sure I have the worst story I bought it ignoring the negatives (huge mistake) I did the same with ignition (big mistake) well, it turns out that I can’t play ANY GAME on steam, I legit got a new browser and it’s still broken. I could've lived with the game but after an entire season on 50% doing a couple races here and there I was so disappointed that I couldn't drive next gen in career mode in the next season
The career mode schedule on the 22 dlc is flat wrong Its just the preliminary 2020 schedule but removes Kentucky Chicagoland and the indy oval They give so little fucks they weren't bothered to update the schedule and infact gave us less tracks to race at in the next gen
If you go to a fast food place, and the employees serve you a burger that is covered in literal shit, you would never want to eat there again. This 2022 DLC is like going back to that same place and getting served the same shit burger, except they added tomato slices and cheese that had sat on the kitchen floor for about a few days.
How are they gonna acquire all these licenses, then put out broken DLC for a game that was made by a better studio, not to mention they're initial title release has DLC and is STILL unplayable. We were to hard on Monster games. Heats 1 and 2 werent great, but they went through character development, H4 and 5 are honestly some of the best NASCAR games in recent years, not to mention SRX the Game and the WOO game are pretty dang great.
I’m not sure if this was a problem for anyone else, but I did NOT buy the DLC, went to go play Heat 5 after it had updated, and my game would just crash after that initial “press A to start” screen. I had to go and install the last patch to be able to even play the game.

I don't even play any NASCAR video games at all even though I'm a fan of the sport and have a console... Well, I'm glad I didn't waste my money
Really makes you miss the years before 2012, where it feels like 71% or 75% of video games were really loved and good. Meanwhile in today's world that number feels like it's at 12.5%
And games that feel rushed, locked behind a dumb microtransaction wall, or just horribly simple and with apathetic developers feel like they're 75% of the market.
Thanks Darian for the video. Really makes me glad that I play Gran Turismo 7.
Haven't played a NASCAR game since NASCAR 07.
Still a dummy. It still shit even after a year! 80% dropped GT7 in the space of 1 year after release.
I’m in a Heat 5 group on Facebook and the amount of grown ass adults who bought this dog shit is absurd. Then they reenact the surprise Pikachu meme when it doesn’t come out on time, it bricks Xbox consoles temporarily, scheme’s get deleted permanently, and everything else mentioned in the video. It just shows you who wasn’t taught object permanence as a child.
I'm glad you chose to be this direct/honest about it.
I still can't believe I keep hearing people who say things like "nothing's wrong with the game, just git gud"
I'm sick of those comment. Only valid if it's Forza games tbh
I tried getting the 2023 mod but the files for it were not able to get traced and it said I needed special access or something. I got the 2022 update for Xbox and it crashed the whole game. Can’t even play the regular 2020 cars anymore
I thought EA was incompetent, but damn these people are a special kind of dumb.
Awesome video! I was totally ripped off by Ignition so I'm not paying for a broken updates! I greatly appreciate you making this video and linking the public dlc's. Great video 😎👍
motorsport games are the embodiment of how NOT to make a racing game
One of the embodiment.
I was playing NASCAR 08 on PS2 last night. I had a fun time. A 15 YEAR OLD GAME!!!!!
We took Eutechnyx for granted
I loved Eutechnyx. The only thing it was missing was the Xfinity, Truck and K&N series, with a related career mode. It was nearly perfect otherwise!
It explains that the latest NASCAR game I played NASCAR heat 5 and I've been doing some retro gaming on NASCAR 99
I would love to Turn 10 Studios or EA Sports develop the next Nascar game
Everyone whatever left of this crappy fanbase feels that way too
Could agree on Turn 10 Studios
"The NASCAR fanbase are FOOLS!" Understatement of the all-time my guy.
Those are the 1st time Nascar game players.
All of us veterans understand it’s 1 thing
SHIT
@Denverbroncos87 I bought it so I could make the money back on youtube videos 💀
For me, the phrase "it's not that bad" is based on the needs of the individual. Say you don't have a lot of time on your hands and have other things you need/want to do outside of NASCAR games, maybe they are willing to deal with it.
@@Denverbroncos87 I'm not even a player and know it was "GAY"
I was thinking about getting the DLC, but I decided I’m not going to do it
Downloading a ten year old game with some mods being a superior choice to a contemporary game with an active development staff is hilarious to me. Plus the network latency and lobbies are less of a pain in Assetto Corsa as well.
I can’t even load into Heat 5 anymore
Always gets stuck on the blue Heat 5 screen with confetti
If anyone defends MSG I literally know they know nothing about racing games and they don’t even have to tell me 🤣
Remember MotorSports Games was supposed to come out with the first Indy Car game in over a decade and also owns RFactor 2. I for one was VERY excited for Indy Car and have been on the fence about getting RFactor 2. I just don't want to waste my money.
The exclusive license was a mistake
2:51 hey it’s Moobs
[shrugs and fires up NR2003]
Go get 'em Darian! This should be interesting to watch!
Savage Darian doesn't exist he can't hurt you
Savage Darian :
I’m pretty sure I have the worst story
I bought it ignoring the negatives (huge mistake) I did the same with ignition (big mistake) well, it turns out that I can’t play ANY GAME on steam, I legit got a new browser and it’s still broken. Unbelievable, them and Lionel should get a reward for the company that cares the least about their fans
...Welp, Time To Keep Playing NR2003...
This is why I will stick with NR2003.
At least it’s free ;)
@@IanTheMotorsportsMan_YTyea i was so fed up with just pure garbage and this is coming from someone who has been a fan since 2020 that when i got a pc i just downloaded nr2003 and never had more fun screwing around with the tracks its a fantastic experience i highly recommend it
@@KevinHarvickisnothappy4 I do have NR2003. But I can’t actually race it on my laptop :(
@@IanTheMotorsportsMan_YT Well that's unfortunate.
@@KevinHarvickisnothappy4 Man, it is so much fun. My favorite part is being able to download tracks, mods, and custom cars to it, including painting custom cars.
THANK YOU!! I am glad someone finally said it. If you bought this DLC what did you expect? I will not in anyway support this scammer company! I am with BFM Motorsport games needs to go under be gone forever and Kosko be arrested.
Quickest way to get anything done is showing your displeasure with your $ they’ll get the memo but people don’t think of it so nothing changes
They won't get it idiot. The true way to get them to listen is to use fear tactics & violence against them & they'll cracked in a heartbeat kid
Liked the clip you used from moobs spinning out can’t get away from choking lol
AND NOW THE UPDATE BROKE MY FUCKING GAME BECAUSE IT TELLS ME TO UPDATE THE GAME EVEN IF I DID IT AND WHEN I OPEN IT JUST CRASHES
I would rather have a company spend a few years to make an amazing game and keep updating thru the years than a new game every year that is unplayable
I honestly don't even remember how I ended up with Heat 5. At this point, I played it once, did a bit of a race, realized it was basically Heat 4 with things taken out instead of added in, uninstalled it and never played it again...
"some of y'all actually bought the fucking dlc" 😂😂😂 lost my shit here
From my experience, the one way to get the developers (and NASCAR's) attention is leave a NEGATIVE REVIEW wherever you can. Petitions are meaningless. Bitching on Twitter is meaningless. Attacking their point of sale with a big red NEGATIVE next to the game and DLC, that makes noise. Do what you can!
And guess what MSG did. Turn off Reviews of the Heat 5 2022 DLC on Steam
@@LSTNSCRFN Well of course they did. That’s what a company with morals does.
Can’t wait for a quality nascar game with custom setups and custom cars one thing we haven’t had on console is to have our own name above the door or to be able to pick what wheel we’re gonna use focus on the big stuff and integrate the small stuff later don’t do what ignition did..
Thank you!!!! You have my same exact thoughts people claimed they didn't wanna support the company anymore but then went and payed for an outdated dlc like tf! I agree 100%. Guess this dlc proved that 90% of the people who said they wouldn't buy anything from this company again are full of shit!
great video; every single point you mentioned was completely right
this is the reason I didn't buy the DLC, because if MSG made it, it would end up breaking a buncha shit in the fucking game
There’s no way a large part of that loss wasn’t the sponsorship on the 78 Live Fast car.
Thank you for bringing this to the attention of the community BFlags has our backs
I know I've said this about Motorsport Games on a previous video, but it needs repeating: If you're showing EA Sports in a good light, you've seriously screwed up. And I mean *SERIOUSLY* screwed up.
iRacing has been my dose of NASCAR for nearly a year now. Been great.
Thankyou for telling it like it is. Bunch of my friends have clammored back to this shit and I couldn't be more disinterested. Seems broken af
Honestly, it still baffles my mind that people unironically bought this DLC
Your channels name is pretty hilarious. For some reason it finally made sense to me today.
I could've lived with the game but after an entire season on 50% doing a couple races here and there I was so disappointed that I couldn't drive next gen in career mode in the next season
Keep in mind, on their website it says they are a " leading racing game developer" ... yep they are - leading scam developer.
The career mode schedule on the 22 dlc is flat wrong
Its just the preliminary 2020 schedule but removes Kentucky Chicagoland and the indy oval
They give so little fucks they weren't bothered to update the schedule and infact gave us less tracks to race at in the next gen
If you go to a fast food place, and the employees serve you a burger that is covered in literal shit, you would never want to eat there again.
This 2022 DLC is like going back to that same place and getting served the same shit burger, except they added tomato slices and cheese that had sat on the kitchen floor for about a few days.
I'm so disgusted with the current state of NASCAR racing games! Shame on those pieces of 💩 for ruining a great experience for so many true fans.
Once again the whole gaming industry need to be rebooted
Reboot from big computer era in the 70s
I’m not sure if this was a problem for anyone else, but I did NOT buy the DLC, went to go play Heat 5 after it had updated, and my game would just crash after that initial “press A to start” screen. I had to go and install the last patch to be able to even play the game.
F1 23 be like: I'm here to satisfy your needs for a great racing game racing fans :)
