Amrep on 300s Hopper Footage

- This particular week it wasnt too heavy so the amrep was able to keep up a little better than usual. When it is heavier and the cans are more full the amreps really don’t work well with the 300s. Seen here is about half of a full load before the truck starts to struggle to clear the hopper.

There was something relaxing watching the chain work on the arm. And of course, watching 300s being dumped. Great hopper vid!

Nice video, however what’s the point of separating recyclables if they are just going to be dumped in with the regular trash?

they used to have separate recycling collection, hence the blue and the black bins, but now everything is run through a MRF where valuable commodities are pulled out. yard waste is still collected separately in BH

How many tons can you get in a full load? Seems impractical to use an Amrep especially towards the end, packer didn’t seem to keep up very well. Overall really nice to see this hope to see more video of you at work!

This looks like it was about 4-5 carts from the blade stopping. Can ya keep t he camera on until you load out? Otherwise great vid!

2 reasons for that .. too slow ram pushing into storage .. too much waste being stuffed into hopper by operator.
if ya dont give it time to chew it's food, it will obviously back-up

Wow this thing eat garbage like there's no tomorrow :P That's an awesome run, as much as I don't understand why the same truck pick the trash and the recycling, I have to admit that it makes it more interesting to watch :) I was hoping to spot fashion magazines or clothes, but everytime I try to see something better, more trash are always dumped over :P
Math Math The city this fas filmed in cancelled their recycling program years ago because people where to stupid to recycle, that is why he is picking up both, the old recycling cans are just used for garbage nowadays.
@@laurin4339 Ok that make sense, but it seems like most people who had the reclycling bins arn't aware of that since they've really only put recycling in them :P
Math Math True, but I think they where all informed when they cancelled the program and recycling bins are being replaced by new trash bins.
@@Math_ilda Like most things in life, you don't appreciate things and follow rules and when it disappears it's too late. Look sometime of recycling hopper videos and see what people throw in as " recyclable".
@@bigmack126 Haha I know, even in malls or on the street, there's always food in the recycling. It seem to be so complicated for some people to think just a little bit before discarding things :P

Not many companies are recycling any more since China stopped buying recycles in 2018. It's expensive.

I’m running a research project on the best methods to reduce contamination in the recycling stream and I’d love to get some hopper footage from a very specific vantage point, ideally even in my area if possible (Colorado). Do you recycle? How can one truck separate all the plastics, cans, cardboard, and paper? Not to mention compost material. Where I live one week its garbage. The following week, we have 2 trucks, one for compost, the other all recycling material. In this truck the recycling is separate. Plastics on one side and the other is all paper, cardboard material.

It is all mixed waste, they had a recycling programm but people where too stupid so they abandoned it and now sent the trash to a dirty MRF for sorting, the old recycling bins are still used for regular trash tough.

that grabber and arm are like my ex wife...loose and dirty :)
