This MV is ambiguous as heck so can be multifaceted and interpreted in so many ways, but it’s also a satire. This V’s dry humour is totally depicted to the max, he did say it’s a witty song about the and of friendship and the beginning of something else. This mv really has V’s sense of humour - dry, sarcastic with dark undertones and the smirk at the end is so Tae, his ‘gotchya’ face. Lol. Loved it. But for me the best takeaway was the song, the vocal gymnastics and the sound choir at the end. I can’t wait to see this performed live especially with the soul choir that backed him in the song. This is how i also interpret it In the first scene we see him alone. So in reality now V is an artist whom we assume is single. when he sees us ( the rest of the world) or (other artist at his age) Some are in a relationship,others are married and in his eyes everyone seemed to be happy and showing off their affection which makes him feel lonely and dejected. He was so focused on those around him he Lost himself in the process. That we see him dieing at the end. So he is trying to tell us that at some point in his life he was so focused on things that were going on around him that he at some point lost himself. In the second half: Now he has a partner which this time he focuses on ingnoring his surroundings. But he still died at the end. So he tells us The world around him was in chaos which are (small problems in every relationship) which he ignored. So you could see before he was hit by the car it was either when he turned around he now saw how their relationship could also get to that point or he he realizes in oreder to save their relationship he lost himself in the process hence he died agian. I read so much comments by ARMYs concluding self-love, which I thought too at first but it doesn't go with the song. One reactor's reaction made more sense to me. First dream V was alone and sad. Next he dreamt that he and his friend (who he wanted to be more than just friends with) made him happy. At the end he died but notice, he had a smile on his face when he died happy with her. So his self at the end said, Yo, like what are you gonna do about it? And it made sense that he was happier in the 2nd scenario, with her. So might as well be with her and if you're gonna die... die happy. That theory to me makes more sense with the song.
My interpretation is that in the first scenario, he's lonely but everyone else is happy because in the role of an his fans want him to be single. In the second scene he's with a woman and was seemingly happy but everyone else was unhappy because his fans don't want him to have a partner. I say seemingly happy because note that he has a smile on his face when he dies. So maybe he's saying yes to a relationship, but not a heterosexual one. In the final secene he wakes up to another man, represented by himself, and I interpret that as when he decided to be be true to himself, he found the person he loves and who loves him in return.

Always loved how you present your reactions/analysis. And, you're right...only V can do it!!! Surely, he is part of the visuals/creative concept of this MV. That's why most of his followers are mainly attracted to how he thinks. Sapiosexuals haha. That Oooh-oooh is fire, right? 😅. While on the mv, the scenes where he was all by himself / going with the flow and people around him were happy showed his routine as it pleases many. And, when he finally decided to pursue his own happiness/freedom ( ending a friendship to pursue love or whatever it is in general), people around him started to hate/fight/argue/bully and were even unbothered when something bad happened to him. It is a reality that’s happening especially in socmed where he sees/reads everything. Fandom, supporters, shippers, solos, and media are like feeding frenzy whenever idols are rumored to be dating, smoking, and the likes. It ruins the fantasy of a perfect image of their idols being pure and wholesome. Some idols even resort to self-destruction/taking own lives because of this pressure. One reactor said that he thinks the death scene symbolises the end of friendship in either scenario of the MV.
He is happier/smiling in the second death scene because the friendship died as they became lovers, unlike in the first case. In the first case, friendship died because his feelings have turned to love but they did not become lovers.
The final part shows that in the end yourself is your own friend. And his smile is for the Army who he has kept guessing and thinking and theorizing about the plot and meaning or message of his MV. He just loves to give us something to think about. Love this!

In the first "universe"..Tae is alone and wishes for love...and then dies sadly
In the second "universe"..he has a lover..and he dies happily
Then he wakes up with both the first and second universe together..
The way I see it..first universe=Alone, no love for anyone not even yourself=sad death
second universe=Has a lover..better than last one=happy death
last one=love yourself, then love others=happier than ever

I read so much comments by ARMYs concluding self-love, which I thought too at first but it doesn't go with the song.
One reactor's reaction made more sense to me. First dream V was alone and sad.
Next he dreamt that he and his friend (who he wanted to be more than just friends with) made him happy. At the end he died but notice, he had a smile on his face when he died happy with her. So his self at the end said, Yo, like what are you gonna do about it? And it made sense that he was happier in the 2nd scenario, with her. So might as well be with her and if you're gonna die... die happy.
That theory to me makes more sense with the song.
My interpretation is that in the first scenario, he's lonely but everyone else is happy because in the role of an his fans want him to be single. In the second scene he's with a woman and was seemingly happy but everyone else was unhappy because his fans don't want him to have a partner. I say seemingly happy because note that he has a smile on his face when he dies. So maybe he's saying yes to a relationship, but not a heterosexual one. In the final secene he wakes up to another man, represented by himself, and I interpret that as when he decided to be be true to himself, he found the person he loves and who loves him in return.
You guys have the best theory I have seen so far.

Always loved how you present your reactions/analysis. And, you're right...only V can do it!!! Surely, he is part of the visuals/creative concept of this MV. That's why most of his followers are mainly attracted to how he thinks. Sapiosexuals haha. That Oooh-oooh is fire, right? 😅. While on the mv, the scenes where he was all by himself / going with the flow and people around him were happy showed his routine as it pleases many. And, when he finally decided to pursue his own happiness/freedom ( ending a friendship to pursue love or whatever it is in general), people around him started to hate/fight/argue/bully and were even unbothered when something bad happened to him. It is a reality that’s happening especially in socmed where he sees/reads everything. Fandom, supporters, shippers, solos, and media are like feeding frenzy whenever idols are rumored to be dating, smoking, and the likes. It ruins the fantasy of a perfect image of their idols being pure and wholesome. Some idols even resort to self-destruction/taking own lives because of this pressure. Sad but this goes out to most if not all idols. I may be wrong but these are just my two cents.
