Wintergrass 2022: Vintage Guitar Workshop | Fretboard Journal

Every year at Washington's Wintergrass festival, the Fretboard Journal magazine hosts a vintage instrument workshop where great players get to perform on a few dozen rare and vintage guitars and mandolins. For the audience, it's a rare chance to hear some legendary (and not-so-legendary) vintage acoustic instruments in a live setting.
For 2022, mandolinists Sharon Gilchrist and Joe K. Walsh took the stage alongside guitarists Kenny Smith and Dale Adkins. The quartet performed on various vintage Martins, Gibsons, Washburns, Regals, and others.
Special thanks to Wintergrass, Mark Demaray, and D'Addario Strings for their assistance with this workshop every year. And to all the collectors and FJ readers who let us borrow their guitars and mandolins for a couple of hours on a Saturday morning.
