- 15 year old Norwegian bass-baryton Bjørn Mathias Tollefsen sings "O helga natt" (O holy night) at Christmas eve, December 24th 2023, LIVE in Sandnes church, Norway. Piano by Bjarte Lending.
This performance was awarded First prize and winner of the Young Artist 2024 title (for age category 14-17 yrs), as well as the "Excellent Interpretation Special Price" in the Georges Bizet international music competition 2024.
He had a great year! I'm starting to hear a touch of sweetness in his bass voice that hasn't always been there. Can't wait for 2024!

Thank you very much. This was the preludium of the traditional Christmas Eve service here in Sandnes, Norway this year, and a magical moment which made the entire church go silent all of a sudden. ❤
Great Steve!!! First of all, what is striking is His wonderful presentation - festive appearance, freedom and a nice smile ❤ ... When he starts singing, he is immediately struck by his beautiful, even, full timbre, with a delicate, nice vibrato. It is a beautifully developing baritone, even, maintaining the same emission color throughout the entire scale - and in the high tones 💯👍🎶🎤👏. Steve is still young. You can hear that his voice has undergone mutations very quickly, but his voice is quickly developing and achieving its full sound. This is an announcement of an exceptionally beautiful baritone with a beautifully even, pure timbre... bass...
