B&O Beosound a1 Gen 2 Review -Small Speaker Big Price!

- The Bang and Olufsen Beosound A1 Gen 2 is B&O’s smallest and most affordable speaker, and at $250, it’s still not cheap…
However, just because something has a large price tag, doesn't mean it’s not worth the extra cost. Immediately upon viewing and feeling the speaker, you get the impression of pure quality and craftsmanship that B&O is known for.
While the Gen 1 A1 had a great sound for such a small speaker, it had one crippling deficiency, and that was battery life and they seemed to have fixed that issue with the gen 2 version. But was that change enough to make this speaker worth its huge price tag, and have they had to sacrifice anything to get there?

Hi, nice video, 👏👏 a couple of times, you said there are louder options. I need a loud mini portable speaker. Can you recommend some. I use caribena hook JBL mini speaker, speaker life on max output is not all that, and it's not very loud. Any suggestions will be much appreciated. Thanks

What is the best bang for the buck in such a speaker?
Jeden vlastním asi rok a myslím že hraje krásně čistě a vyváženě, baterie pri 70% volume asi 8 hodin,navíc volání přes 3 mikrofony je skvěle čisté. vodotěsný, prachotěsný. Vyzkoušel jsem spoustu reproduktorů různých značek bose,marshall,jbl,niceboy,sony a myslim že ve své kategorii nema ve kvalitě zvuku konkurenci, je radost ho poslouchat
Question: Can this control Alexa items - eg Can I tell Alexa via the BEO to turn on lights or turn off sprinklers (assuming I am on an appropriate wifi network)? Thanks.
Realise this is a year old but thought I should reply as a PSA. I tried to replace my echo dot with it and it doesn't do a great job as an echo replacement.
Whilst it does have Alexa support, it doesn't have any wifi of its own. It relies on being connected your phone to access Alexa, is quite slow compared to a first party echo device and sometimes requires going into your phone to make it work again (for me, usually when the phone leaves the house and comes back).
Looking at this company's other speaker products they are big on aesthetics and design that appeals to interior designers. So one is paying more for that really. Although the sound quality is good, I discounted this one as other cheaper speakers from brands like Sony and JBL have got pretty good sound with their firmware updates and software which give you far better EQ options. Cheers.
The strap is great for hanging it off my towel rack next to the shower. I have the 1st gen, which allegedly has better sound, but the battery life is horrific.
Bang & Olufsen is about good sound AND Aesthetics... please name a product that are doing it better than this.
