- This video is just to show Doomslayer in action from a third-person perspective. The first fight against Marauder was one of the coolest moments in Doom Eternal. talking about the comparison with Doomguy don't get me wrong, both are the same person and the fact that the old Doomguy is faster than the new one is simply because the mechanics of games change with time and technology. But comparing the new with the old has always been part of the fun :) - those who want to play in third person just Download cheat engine (www.cheatengin...) and download the code file (fearlessrevolu..., install the programs to access the game's command console. Then just type pm_thirperson 1. To make the speed like Doom 1 just use pm_runspeed 22.12 and pm_sprintspeed 22.12 (it's the approximate value of 49.5 mph in m / s)

The game still uses that same method for some of the animations. The pole swing mechanic in particular generates two arms apart from the main model and just leaves the main model off screen so that animation doesn't overtake functionality.
in the "naked and only fist" run you can see only the legs and arms, but there is a full body for every glory kill, there arw videos bout that

The funny thing is in Doom 2016’s multiplayer, all glory kills and chainsaw kills had their own 3rd person animations.

Yes!! I've seen those thirdperson glory kills in 2016 and they had a bit more animations, not to mention various, than this one on eternal
@@RadioactiveLemonn It's because in 2016 there were co op maps you could play with friends and they were just as long as the other glory kills. Since in Eternal the only time you'll see doomguy third person is during the multiplayer where he needs to show that he's getting a kill or chainsaw they made it one animation. It sucks but I understand, also less work third person wise since he has a full body instead of arms and legs.

In third person, Doomguy only has two glory kill animations (actually three with the glory kill from above) but they are generic and do not really interact with enemies.

correct, but the purpose was to make the fight a little longer to show what the third person gameplay is like.
Spam both grenades when staggered as well
Good idea. I beat him in the slayer gate where you have to kill him in 30 seconds by hitting him with 6 charged explosive shots from the ballista.
You can do rocket> ballista > rocket for even more dmg. It has to be really fast tho

i think the only real reason the Slayer has an actual third person model and animations is for the Battlemode, you wouldn't normally be seeing the Slayer rip out a Prowlers Spine while your going really fast in Battlemode

Fun fact: you can shoot the marauder twice when he staggers, halving the time to kill him, you can kill him even quicker if you utilize the flame belch, ballista, and grenades inbetween using the ssa to stagger him,

The UAC spokeswoman even mentions it at one point in the game to "Please refer to our new friends as the 'Mortally Challenged'!"

I loved a lot this 3rd person perspective. Old doom sound has been back which revives my old memories. One last word, you are an expert doom player, I loved your combat against Marauder. 😄

Original weapon sounds can be found in the audio settings

@@mattcrowley8993 It might get boring after a while, but have fun! And if you didn't know, you can also change the weapon perspective to be in the middle of the screen like the originals. I can't remember what settings section that option is located in though. Maybe gameplay or video settings?

Normally I love 3rd person but doom is the pinnacle of 1st person. I think it wouldn't be as immersive. Gears is nowhere near as fast paced as this so you need the full view.

What the fuck third person actually looks fucking amazing in Doom Eternal.
No matter what anyone says, I'm still convinced Doomslayer is the same guy as the original trilogy of Doom games (Doom, Doom 2, Doom 64).
When you find the ancient carving in hell that showed "The Doomslayer's first rampage in the inferno" (or whatever it said) it was a image of a new version the original DooM's box art; making me think that his "first time in hell" was talking about Episode 2 and 3 of the original Doom. I think that Doomslayer is the original Doom marine, and Doom '16 is a direct sequel Doom 64, because at the end of 64 the Doom Marine stays in Hell to prevent demons from invading his universe ever again.
Also, Doom 16's alternate box art looked like the exact opposite of the original box art: It was still the same Doom marine on the hill with demons coming at him and an Imp looking over it's shoulder at the viewer, but instead of the demon's dragging the Doom marine down, he's pulling them up to him with one arm, showing how Doomslayer has changed.

Personally, as someone who loves Doom, but also prefers 3rd person shooters, Eternal could honestly work incredibly well in 3rd person, at least as an optional camera view. Granted, the leg animation could be tweaked and whatnot, this genuinely looks great.
