It's funny how many 80's and 90's silhouettes aged so well, like Jordans (1s, 4s, 5s, 6s, etc), Forces, New Balance's are still popular amongst my generation till this day. They just find a way to renew themselves each year without changing the design of the shoe

Great vid, the 80s and early 90s kicks were the best by far. Hope to see more as I am a collector from that era. Love from Ireland 🍀.

I had a pair of pumps growing up. There's a great scene in White Men Can't Jump regarding the pumps. There was an urban legend at my school that if you wore BK shoes, the Bloods (the gang) would be out to get you because the BK stood for "Blood Killer". So stupid, but kids were legit scared to wear their BKs lol. My favorite throwbacks not mentioned are the Converse Weapons and the Pony City Wings. Great stuff as always. Some of those boxes hit me hard.

@@TheCassettePhase Yeah, the weapons were worn by Bird and Magic and a few others. I had the purple and yellow ones in high school because those were our school colors. I remember finding them in Eastbay magazine for like 20 bucks around the year 2000ish.

I loved my LA Gear shoes. Do you remember a kind called Kaeppa? I think that’s correct. If memory serves, they had dual laces on each shoe. Fun video. 👍

Omggg the jordans look sooo good. The colorways are so nice too cause its not your regular chicago. The box on the red x white look great too. Also i remember wanting the Huarache's so bad as a kid, but my parents couldn't afford them, I live in brazil now, so its a little hard to find a pair of those, I would get one if i found them here, just cause it was so popular in my middle/high school time. Not so long ago too, I'm in my 20's

Some of my favorites, Nike air Griffey max for ken griffey jr, reebok shaq pump. reebok kamikaze shawn kemps, ones i actually owned that were cool nike air diamond turf 2 Deion Sanders and Nike Air gridiron 2 Cris Carter. the cris carter ones were super uncomfortable but looked awesome, black with purple swoosh and the air pocket was clear with neon yellow gel. I saved money an entire summer picking fruits and vegetables to get those, so i really didn't care how uncomfortable they were I was wearing them haha. I think they were $210 which being like 12 felt like a million dollars.

I always wanted high tops. I thought they'd be cool. A lot of kids had them. It was also popular to leave them untied. Even as a kid I found that to be uncomfortable. Your dad comment made me laugh. I started wearing, mom shoes pretty early on just for the sake of comfort. High tops are out of the question at this point. I don't like my shoes to cover my ankles at all.

in the 80's when shoes started to matter, i only had the nike flights which were like one level below jordans, just liked their styles better, and a shoe i can not believe was not mentioned which i wore all the time was the puma suedes with the custom fat checkered laces. and i know im a bit older so maybe thats why . are you old enough to remember vision quest when everyone started wearing wrestling shoes to school? that fad didnt last very long.
