I’m impressed by the quality of the layouts at this show. It’s great to see and hear most of the layouts, although there are some great layouts that don’t use DCC Sound!!
Personally, I would like to make a layout of the Volk’s Electric Railway that runs along the seafront at Brighton. It’s the first electric railway in the world.
How do I want to do it? By running 0 scale trains on 00 track. I have a vast amount of old train sets that could easily provide the mile and a half of the full line.
I particularly enjoyed the narrow gauge layout of the port of Minehead. This is a beautiful layout of a location I’ve visited.
It was certainly different from the norm and a pleasure to film.

I think sound adds something extra as long as it it not overdone and not too loud.
You’re somewhere near where I went to boarding school!! I went to the Childscourt Coeducational Boarding School, Lattiford.
The exhibition venue is near where you went to school. I live about an hour's drive away.
got to say the minehead port and the cornwall brewery were best for me. i just thought that engine looked like a u.s. one on the minehead port :)
The loco was American. Small narrow gauge railways often sourced their locos from other countries if none suitable were available in the UK.

I have seen some film of this railway. \It would be an unusual project.

Sounds an interesting project. I hope that you manage to do it someday.
