Thanks Simon for sharing your version of that truly unforgettable night! 🙏 Though they're all great, I think my favorite photo from the video is the sunset one..gorgeous scene with the pink and purple at 4:10! 😃
I was in a hotel room at Heathrow airport that night and due to all the light pollution, didn’t see anything but the faintest glow and nothing worthy of a photograph. Gutted to have missed it. Hoping that over the next 3 weeks whilst still in Alberta and BC, we’ll have another opportunity. Fantastic content again Simon 😊
Thanks for the shutter speed tip! I was working early mornings all through that storm so no chance to stay up, but hopefully we’ll get another one in less than 20 years 😅
For May 10th I intentionally headed off to the Yorkshire Dales to get as much 'Dark Sky' as possible and it didn't disappoint, roll on exactly 5 months later on October 10th and it was close to being a repeat performance. I've seen the Aurora before in Iceland but nothing compares to seeing it from just a few minutes away out the front door.
That's so amazing! May I ask what lens you used to capture the northern light? and is f2.8 gonna be enough? Just in case I get lucky like you, about to go there this October.
@@simoncennals Thank you so much. I think I'm gonna need your photography location guide haha. Do I need to buy them all to get all the locations you listed?
@@simoncennals Just bought the best value pack of your photography location guide. It's so useful and totally worth it. Really good staff there. Cheers 👍🏽😍
Amazing shot!!!!❤❤❤
Wonderful information and pictures, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching Mike!
Fantastic!!
Wow. What a beauty. Amazing. This must be Friday night. I was out waiting all Saturday night. Didn't see a thing in Vancouver.
It was Friday night into Saturday morning. Was a great show! Will.be more soon I'm sure.

Thanks Richie. There are some great shots to be had at cascade ponds at most times of day!
Wow!! Amazing video. Thanks for sharing. 👍31
How amazing. I cant imagine what it must have been like to be there. The Aurora is still on my bucket list. Hope to see it at least once in my life.
I believe we're at solar maximum for the rest of the year. I'm not entirely sure what that means but should mean more northern light storms!

Keep an eye on the forecast and you never know! Doesn't have to be that strong to see it in parts of Canada.

Fingers crossed we'll get more this year!
That was May 10,2024 and I witnessed the northern lights for the first time here in Wisconsin. So amazing
Certainly was, amazing you got to see them! Was a show for the whole US!

Incredible. I've seen it in Banff a few times but never quite like that. So fun hearing about everyone around the world who got to witness it!
Absolutely beautiful..
It was pretty incredible
That shot at 7:06 is beautiful! I wish we could see something like this. May I know the date when this shot was taken?
It was May 10th/11th but the date doesn't really matter when it comes to aurora it can be very random!
@@simoncennals Got it! Thanks for the quick reply :)

I was shooting with a Sigma 24mm F1.4 but 2.8 will definitely work. This was a very strong storm but fingers crossed!
