While the voice in this one isn't as high fidelity for obvious reasons, it truly shows how Utsu originally envisioned the tone of the song when he first wrote the lyrics. When Hanatan sang it, she made it energetic, dynamic, and bright. With this version, the energy is still there but to a lesser degree, and the more flattened voice with fewer dynamics (which i feel was intentional), gives the entire song a more somber, serious feel to it.
In that, it most certainly has merit.
