Great tips but what about after you've left the room?

Don't neglect the adjoining room door, if they get into the adjoining room they can get into your room in less than 5 seconds with a J thumb turn tool. Best way to secure the adjoining room door is tape over the thumb turn lock, and put a Lewis Clark travel door alarm on it.

Lock the bolt and take an empty water bottle or door stop and wedge it between the top of the handle and the bolt turn knob. It makes it so you cant unlock the bolt. Used to do it in my barracks.

So instead of just taking your word for it, find someone who knows what they're doing, stuff the towel in there and see if they can circumvent it.

Quick solve for this, if i owned a hotel, im literally having only rounded doorknobs with literal key entry. You get one key, if you lose it, then I charge the shit out of you after you leave

I use a bunge cord from the hook snaked around the lock back up to the hook to finish. Also put black dollar store duct down the seam to prevent prying.

What would stuffing a towel accomplish?

It beats the under-the-door tool. Basically just a rod with a hook that lets you fish for the handle from outside.

What about twisting a zip tie through the lock?

I would think the towel would have to be wrapped around the handle as well

Again!! A BIG FOOT AND A STRONG LEG CAN KICK THAT DOOR OPEN!! Usually a mule kick will open most hotel doors. Please stop.

There's a reason why people in red states aren't just robbing and murdering people left right and center like they do in California and Detroit lol
It's not paranoia when they're actually out there, you're just naive and that's fine, you'll have your day and then you'll learn
