It’s changing pretty fast. The original waterfront really needs to be a one way street and they should not allow cars or trucks after 6pm. Every time a car or truck backs out it stops the traffic going in both directions. And the new waterfront area needs to do same. Just my opinion hehe
I was at that Starbucks several times on my last visit to Dumaguete and the pricing is more expensive than other coffee shops in the area such as Ground Zero but it is still half the cost or less than Starbucks in the states. I did enjoy Casa Blanca for dinner. The waterfront at night is fun with all the lighting.
The coffee at Starbucks is pretty expensive here…I’m not a big Starbucks fan…they do serve decaf that’s why I go there…I’m glad you had a good trip here…looking forward to seeing you come back to Duna
Awesome video. I enjoyed the scenic Route from your scooter. I be there inAugust going to leyte. I’m hoping Leyte has a little scenic views and cute restaurants bars like dumagette…..thanks for the cool video!
@@SAMLAMB Hi Sam. My Filipina lives in Capoocn , Lemon Leyte area. It’s located much inland into the deep province area. But we are going to stay in the Ormoc city Leyte area at some if the Hotel’s near the beaches to enjoy more amenities. I be there for two weeks in August, then I be back in 6 months to live there full time. Hope to meet up with you and your wonderful girlfriend sometime in the future.
I know ormoc. Never stayed there on a regular basis. Just passing through. My ex lived in Baybay. I wish you the best of luck dude. Yeah, we are here always. Just send me a message if you have any questions
Awe you are killing me. My two favorite city streets in the world. And the fun intersections. How I miss it. Thanks so much for the drive. Can’t wait to visit again from Texas next May when my FilAm baby girl turn 1 for her Filipino birthday with all her relatives. Take care. Thanks again.
I love your comment…people like you is why I make these types of videos. I remembered when I was locked out of Philippines during the pandemic. I would watch anyone who would make these drive by videos
Years ago I considered Duma or Valencia. Now not even a remote consideration. I'm in Northern Luzon. I never see a foreigner (thank God) am treated incredibly well and no gold diggers. I found a very nice providence gal. And most of all prices are very low for everything! My 2 bdrm upper gated condo $100 USD and 5 min walked to city market.
I love it there. Spend some time there. Love jogging around the pond downtown. And I think I was there for some kind of a flower festival…not what festival it was though. Once again great finding that $100 2br condo.
Dumaguete looks nice at night i will be in cebu sept 6 then i will be coming to dumaguete to find a place to stay.hope to meet you guys when i get there.take care sam and rizal
Dumaguete is been a tourist destination for a while. but what has changed is the problems with the local government with all the killing. Valencia there a lot of houses pop in up. great video
Thanks for tuning in Mike…I agree with your comment…it’s sad that’s happening…but that’s been happening all around the Philippines since I’ve been here in2009…also, killings in the USA has increased dramatically in the last 10yrs too…
Reason we have all these traffic jams is because we don’t have any stop signs or traffic lights…so when you come to a intersection it’s every man for themselves lol…it’s CRAZYYYYY…I’ve never seen anything like it…just imagine what would happen if there’s no traffic lites in Japan lol
@@SAMLAMBlooking forward to watching upcoming video! Sam, ur advice about dating with Filipina is very useful. Especially about Money. It would be wonderful if u would make another vlog about dating Filipino. Have a nice day!
nice birds eye view of dumaguete. I've watched other vloggers showing it, but this one seemed better with more narrating. your gf or wife is drop dead gorgeous. the traffic is bad, but doable. for us old expats, not a great place to ride a bike.
Thanks for joining us , James. I’ll tell Razel about your comment. I’m sure she’ll get a kick out of it…you have to be a bit aggressive if you want to ride a bike here…the rules of the road here is , there are no rules. You’ve just inspired me to vlogg this topic…I tend to make videos that will help foreigners when they come to this country and this is a very serious and dangerous topic…not sure if I’ll be able to talk about this for 20min but we’ll see..lol. Take care James. You have a great day…
I can tell you, I analyzed that back in April, So I made it into Manila, flew to Ozímiz, Mindanao. Bought a 2023 Baja J Maxima with 0 km on Odometer, from the EMCOR Showroom. Hit the roads of Mindanao at large, One month Later, FERRY into Dumaguete, then FERRY into SIQUIJOR. after Two weeks, FERRY back to Dumaguete. Road trip at large, over 3,500 Km on the Odometer, today still road tripping. The best decision I ever made.
We are not running around in loin cloths anymore. And we have fire- not have to eat everything raw 😅. The whole country is doing its best to keep up w/ other Asian countries -but is very sick right now coz of corruptions. It has many ills-there. But it is still a viable place to live a good life if u can afford it. That goes all around the world- i suppose.
I don’t know the rich area. Although we do live up in the hills of Valencia and real estate there is a bit pricey. I’ll ask around. I don’t think there’s a rich area per say.
Thanks, I last visited Dumaguete 40 years ago, back then nice and peaceful place.
It’s still a bit peaceful , kof. Probably not as peaceful as when you were here. Very crowded downtown
Thanks guy for the info. This was one of your best videos.
