My son and I will be staying here next month (April 2023) and my sisters family will be staying in the Drury Inn and Suites nearby. I appreciated your review! I was having a tough time finding a comparison video between these two hotels so I’m thinking of making one…we shall see…
I stayed there in 2007 for a cousin's wedding at another Riverwalk hotel, that was too pricey for most of us. Everyone went our own way during the day and met up during happy hour to make dinner plans. It was very convenient. It was December and we had an ice cream party by the pool after the rehearsal dinner. It was a great week.
My friend and I stayed here with her daughter and we loved it. Definitely worth the money, helps save on money and the rooftop pool was the best part. The ONLY thing was I did not get a lot of sleep here. I was creeped out all night had to sit up in the bed cause it was a little uncomfortable and felt like I was being watched. Of course since it’s an old hotel the mind runs but yeah. Will definitely be back
I've actually stayed there before, the old Bank safe in the basement is really cool to see. You're right about the lobby, one of the coolest ones you're ever going to see

Nice video. How far is it for the main area where all the restaurants are? Is this closer than the Drury Inn.
Great video! Did you guys have to check in for breakfast? Just came back from NYC and the line was very long for breakfast. I even had to go back upstairs to get my keycard to show before I could enter the breakfast area
Mark, I visit or travel through San Antonio a lot you check into your downtown hotel at 1am and are hungry Uber over to Market Square and @mitierra Cafe y Panderia open 24hrs family owned great restaurant and pandering to get great Mexican food and all those baked sweets you love.

Great review Mark. I have heard such great things about Drury Inns but I have not had the opportunity to stay at one with its limited footprint. However, one thing I have noticed in the last couple of years is the number of places I had stayed at with really worn-out beds and not just the inexpensive places but expensive places such as Crown Plaza, Double Tree, and Embassy Suites.
Yes! I've noticed that too. Filmed a review of my hotels in Montreal Toronto and Chicago and they were in better shape than the San antonio bed but you could tell most of them had been jn use for a good while
How funny - we’re flying to San Antonio next week! We’ll be at the Contessa, but we did look at the Drury.
they had a cool lobby

If I had one thing that no one includes, how much control or ease of control do I have over the heat/air conditioning temperature? Some are saunas and some are meat lockers. 🤪
