- Surfcasters around the world have been deterred from trying out British surfcasting leads (sinkers) because of the extremely high cost of shipping. Here's a practical and economical answer in the shape of the new modular Breakaway Ultra Lead. The plastic nose-cones are featherlight and cheap to ship. The DIY mould produces the 150g and 170g lead barrels from scrap metal.

Where did the metal loop on the top come from?
Hi. Just quick question. Do you know where can I get mould and material for Breakaway Impact lead weights. Not those in your video but those with bait realise cones on top. Thanks
Those Breakaway moulds are not available as far as I know. You can only buy the complete sinker.

+crazyktb There isn't a Breakaway mould to make the size you want, but there are many other moulds for making surfcasting sinkers in a wide range of weights. Most of these can easily be modified to include swivelling grip wires, and a few have that facility built in. You might like to check out the Gemini system as well - these sinkers use a plastic nosecone with swivelling wires not unlike Breakaway's.
