Equipt with a few Hero 3 & 4 cams and my DJI Zenmuse H3-3D ready XuGong v2 Pro from Immersion RC.

More than 11k views but only 120 likes? Thats crazy. Can't understand that. Its not the typical narrow boat video. Its not about serenity, slowness, relaxation and so on. But man, I love it! Its great. Its great footage, excellent edited, appropriate soundtrack. Its the opposite of all canal videos I've seen before and I love them too. But this is realy great! Thank you! Greetings from Berlin Germany

Thanks for that video. Great job on showing the UK countryside from your prospective. I have never seen an aerial structure with water on it. Didn't know such things existed.

Donald Byrd Thanks Donald. Yeah one of those amazing hidden gems of engineering that are dotted around over here. The fact they finished it in 1805 and it is still used today is pretty staggering too. i love the fact that some mad crazy (brilliant) fool just said "hey lets take water from this hill over to that one in a straight line" and just plowed on and did it somehow.

Jake Bullit Thanks Jake. Was lucky i got the weather for those two aquaduct flights being that it is North Wales! Nearly didn't get the Chirk one as it rained all day until we literally got out of the tunnel. My late father loved the canal and railways too so maybe he pulled a favour with mother nature! lol

The last time I went down the Llangollen canal as a kid, I swore I'd never go again. I realised that I'm terrified of heights. I visited the Pont Du Gard a few years ago but it's nowt compared to that aqueduct. British engineering at its finest ;-)

Vortecks lol its charm comes from the fact that its still got no barrier protection for the 'boaters' side so you can literally walk (or fall) off the boat (see 5:22) and at 11 stories up there is no walking that off lol

d3weyTube Well, unless they've changed the width of the walkways on longboats to at least 2ft, you're a very brave man :-)My Dad sold his boat just after we went there - it rained solid for 2 weeks and I had to do all the locks...... I didn't enjoy it at all.

Hows the new 6 damper ball gimbal going, have you had time to test it and see if the issues have the resolved?

  • @rifted

Love it, and seems like you manage to resolved some issues with the vibrations! or wobble frame? Any way, love it and also the music! Thanks so much for sharing! Are you going to upload a new video with the upgrades you have done into your XuGong? or with the last mod is how you film this one?
    Cheers!

rifted Thanks Ed. Can't beat a bit of Paul Oakenfold (Southern Sun) - To be honest the only major difference from stock is my Shapeways Zenmuse mounting bracket and the Zenmuse H3-3D gimbal itself. Still not sure if the vibrations were from the frame or the G3 but the combination certainly didn't help. The Zenmuse bracket has its own dampening and it all just seems to dull out the vibration.
All the upgrades I have done are on my blog here: www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2323506
Other than the Zenmuse I have a simple but really handy retractable vTX that allows 360 line of site so the body never gets in the way.

Lovely video. We saw you filming as we went over the aqueduct but unfortunately we can't quite identify our boat on the film! It was called 'The Great Escape'. Do you have a video of it?

Chris Slatcher Hi Chris.... I knew i should have chosen a longer song to fit more in! I do indeed have some footage of you going over the Chirk aqueduct. Glad you found me here. I was going to email the boat hire company to see if they would pass a message along actually cause I remember you asking where you could find it on the day and this is all about sharing for me (no point doing it if people can't see it).
I'll upload it onto my channel as an unlisted video so you can view it and share the link around. I think if my subscribers see much more canal they might go mad (like you can see too much!) :-p

d3weyTube That's amazing. Thank you so much. So kind of you to do it. You must have a lot of fun making the videos.

Chris Slatcher My pleasure Chris. Glad I was able to add a lasting memory to your holiday. Yeah it is a lot of fun... a little nerve wracking at times especially given flying kit + water don't go together nicely. Still the braver the flight, the more stunning the result.

Nice Video!! I have a question though...how are you getting vibration free footage on a XuGong v2 pro? Do you have a step by step guide on how to achieve this?

    • @d3weyTube
      @d3weyTube  8 ปีที่แล้ว

+Ryan Withers Hi Ryan - Best bet is to read the first 10 or so pages of my blog which tells you my journey to jitter free XuGong flying. The blog is now pretty much the main Forum for the v2 Pro on RC Groups so lots of good info from others later in it too.
Personally for me it involved changing to the Zenmuse H3-3D gimbal and designing a bracket to mount it (which I also sell via Shapeways).
      Blog is here: www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2323506
Video on the setup is here: th-cam.com/video/WphpzcZ5mpI/w-d-xo.html

+d3weyTube Thanks for the link to your blog i just read...it seems I need to spend another $400 USD to make this quadcoptor work like it was meant to out of the box?? You are doing gods work sorting this product out...you are obviously very intelligent and have patience beyond most peoples. This product is not fit for purpose...I'm going to buy something else that works for less than I need to spend to make this thing work.
