  • Kyle from www.ChapMoto.com gives a detailed breakdown of the Marrakesh Jacket and Pant form KLIM: www.chapmoto.c...
    Klim calls their latest jacket the Marrakesh. Are they referring to the fourth largest city in the Kingdom of Morocco city, or a restaurant here in Southern California? We’ve visited the later... but would love to visit either with this warm-weather protective suit! Made of 1000D Cordura fabric construction with four-way-stretch ensures a flexible fit in up to three seasons of riding - or even 4 seasons here in the SoCal area. The Marrakesh isn't waterproof, but it does repel it well with a fast-drying hydrophobic coating. D3O EVO (CE level 1) armor protects your back, elbows, and shoulders. You stay visible at night with the camouflaged Carbon Black 3M Scotchlite reflective material.

    Does this has EVERYTHING???
    Super ventilated for summer. WATER RESISTANT. And still offers near-leather abrasion resistance?
    And it has reflective strips built into the zippers. I'm getting this, 100%.

    I wish you would spend a little more time talking about the pants. Where does the waistband fall? Gusseted crotch or is the stretch fabric enough mobility. How do they feel when you need to kick over a bike with a tall seat and luggage on the back. Is the inseam length accurate? This vid is like 80% jacket, oh, and there are pants too.

      Great feedback Tim! I will give you a pant specific video here when the stock arrives. The pant does not feature any gussets as the stretch material does the job fantastically. Literally, the pant and jacket have the identical features and this was a pre-production sample and was not "perfect"... thus the reason we glossed over it and used some stock images instead of close-ups of the pant itself. Stay tuned Sir. Thanks for watching! - Kyle

    Just noting: pants ends are over the boots only.
    The pant button quality looks subpar, wish they made it with a button and clip combo like Rev it for more secure fastening.
    As for the jacket, styling is super conservative and need more bright viz color schemes to avoid the already “dad Moto gear” vibes of Klim products. Also would have loved to have ghost armor for chest protection, which is thinner and less obtrusive visually and to the touch.

    Hi Kyle, thanks for the great review. Which jacket would be the most abbrasion resistent to a slide on asphalt, Induction or Marrakesh? I'm not considering the Baja S4 because I'm more a road warrier than an off-road traveler so Baja is probably overkilled for me. Keep on the good work!!!

      Marakesh?... believe Marakesh might be the only "mesh" jacket available rated CE AAA. Induction is rated CE AA.

    Hi-
    I'm looking for a overpants communting pants to use in SolCal. Are the Marrakesh overpants? Do they have zippers on the sides to open the full leg?

    • @chaparralmotorsports
      @chaparralmotorsports  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Alexandre, they are not over pants and don't have full side zippers so they would be difficult to get on and off over your regular pants. Tour master has some nice overpants, : www.chapmoto.com/tour-master-overpant-parent-3613-07

    Great review ! I have a question, for the moment i have the badlands Pro pants and i'm looking for a hot weather riding pants as i find the badlands most of the summer to hot. Does the Marrakesh pants flow more air in comparrison with the Badlands ? Is the Airflow or the Marrakesh comparable to a riding jeans? Or do i need to keep looking for something else ? Greatings from Belgium. Keep up the good work !

      Hello, the Marakesh flows better than the Badlands. You may also want to check out the Baja S4 Pants for hot weather riding. The Baja are specifically designed for good ventilation.

      Hello, the Induction has a full mesh shell design and delivers better air flow, it also has better armor with CE LP2 PRO ARMOR ELBOWS & SHOULDERS versus D3O® CE LEVEL 1 ELBOW ARMOR and
      D3O® CE LEVEL 1 ADJUSTABLE SHOULDER ARMOR in the Marrakesh.

  • @Captndarty

    How well does that jacket flow compared to the induction or Baja S4? it’s just seems more street oriented but as far as durability would it be a viable warm weather off-road ADV solution?

    • @chaparralmotorsports
      @chaparralmotorsports  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question. The Marrakesh is a "hotter jacket" than the Induction or the Baja S4... but it is still 100% vented flow through material. I wear it off-road and on-road... but the material is not as robust as the Induction (as in it snags) but it has GREAT abrasion resistance on the pavement. The Baja S4 is the best jacket in the line-up now in all areas. Comfort, durability and flow of air. At least that is how they feel on my person and on the road. -- Kyle & the Chap Moto Team

    How is the waist sizing on the pants? I've seen some reviews saying to size down as they are large in the waist. I'm usually a 38. But now considering the 36. Thoughts?

      Depends. The Induction is a fully ventilated jacket with a mesh chassis--it's designed for hot weather riding. The Marakesh is designed for comfort and cool/warm weather riding. Both offer 3DO protection and great durability.

    How it vents compare to the Induction?

    • @chaparralmotorsports
      @chaparralmotorsports  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Induction jacket is more free flowing than this Marrakesh jacket. Both are fully vented, but the Induction has larger holes in the Karbonite Mesh that are ridged and they do not close. MAX ventilation.

  • @ajy1w479
    @ajy1w479 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi Kyle,
    How would the Marrakesh be for mostly street and light off road? I am mostly touring but I venture off road. If this is a mesh like material do you think dirt will penetrate the jacket off roading? And can you wash them in a machine washer?

    • @chaparralmotorsports
      @chaparralmotorsports  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Albert, the Marrakesh could be used for street or offroad, it's extremely well built and durable with good protection. It's more of a spring/fall jacket as opposed to a extreme hot weather all mesh jacket like the Induction which 90% of the chassis made up of high flow mesh material. The Marrekesh is a micro mesh so dirt dust penetration shoudn't be too much of an issue. The label says to hand wash. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching.

    How does this jacket compare to the Baja

    • @chaparralmotorsports
      @chaparralmotorsports  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      This jacket is much lighter and offers better maneuverability than the Marrakesh. The Marrakesh has multiple larger mesh panels for extreme venting. The Baja offers venting but not quite to the level as the Marrakesh. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching.
