Ea taking over codemasters is like when NASCAR implemented the Chase (now known as playoff) format. People quit watching and more and more people leave each and every year.
I stopped playing the F1 titles after 2021. As soon as EA acquired Codemasters, I was done with all of their titles. I didn't even need to see what they did with them, because its EA. I don't even know what state the games are in today, but I can guess.... 1. Micro-transactions. 2. Vanity skins. 3. Loot boxes. Do yourself a favour and go to iRacing.

I've bought every game from 2018 til 2020, the prices were reasonable and the gameplay good, not to mention the discount from buying the previous games. First thing EA did was not only reduce this discount but increase the game price almost doubling it. Nah, thanks for ruining it all, EA.
I have the weirdest relationship with this series. I spent years playing F1 2013 because I didn’t have a console for the newer games. And then I bought F1 2020 and absolutely loved it but now I can’t imagine ever playing the series again. I miss the news headlines after race results or when you wanted to transfer to another team. I miss classic cars. F1 2013 didn’t allow helmet customisation but the options they gave were epic. F1 2013 also had different podium animations if you were leaving the team. I jumped into the arms of my mechanics. And I miss the engineer actually sounding like a person. “Looks like this will be our finishing position, just bring the car home.” Point of my rant, Codemasters forgot the small things that made the series special. Also why fire Jeff’s voice actor only to get a new guy who speaks the exact same lines? I would have wanted more voice options.

Of course people understand that the licence for the classic cars ran out and codemasters no longer want to pay for it. Hence they all migrated to different franchises.
Genuine question. Can anyone get safety cars/red flags to work? Myself and a friend have been doing two-player career for the last 3 games but right now it's starting to get dull mid race because we know for a fact nothing is going to happen. No VSC, no SC, no red flags, and we have the settings on "increased". We've even tried switching it to "reduced" and just leaving SC on and turning red flags off. Nothing! It is legit slowly ruining the enjoyment.
