Buffalo has historically always been a good match up vs the Chiefs. Josh has never had a bad game against them, in fact, even in a loss he's arguably been the best player on the field... it's why the Bills usually win the regular season match up. But the psychological advantage Mahomes & KC have always ends up being the gut punch for Josh and the Bills. I really did think the home field advantage would be the thing that pushed the Bills over the hump last year, but once again; Buffalo felt the pressure and looked spooked while Mahomes was surgical and won again. We'll see what happens in the AFCCG. I think it's gonna be KC again, my gut's telling me history will repeat, but I also feel like this is the best version of the Bills to match up against them. Josh in true MVP form, dominant run game, and a great O-Line vs. what is a somewhat shaky KC run defense. Even though I really wanted this to be Lamar's year, a part of me is glad we get one more Mahomes vs. Josh game this season, and this time to decide the winner of the AFC. You know this reminds me of how it was in the 90s except it was turned around the Miami Dolphins were a great team with Dan Marino but how many times did the Buffalo Bills stifle them and stopped their Super Bowl dreams like three or four times they just couldn’t get past the Buffalo Bills and that’s how I feel about the bills in Kansas Citybut this time it’s the bills getting stopped if we learn to defeat Kansas City in the playoffs, I believe a Super Bowl would be in our grasp for that season

BIGGEST thing about the 13 second game that gets overlooked to keep it exciting, is the fact that Allen turned the ball over on downs 4 times against a mid-pack Chiefs Defense... While Mahomes only turned it over twice against the number 1 ranked defense, and Butker left 4 points on the field or there would have been no need for the 13 second drive or OT... BUT at least the better team and QB still won the game, so leaving it out keeps the best game narrative going... Allen still hasn't beaten Mahomes in the playoffs, even with home field advantage, so Mahomes is still top QB... Just My Humble Opinion based on stats and facts...

I think you do need to put a little more emphasis on the regular season wins for Buffalo vs. the much more important playoff wins for Kansas City. It's gotten to the point where these regular season wins for Buffalo don't mean anything because they are always losing the playoff games, and that loss last year was really damaging to this rivalry. Bengals and Chiefs are more of a rivalry than Bills and Chiefs at this point.

But I'm also a fan of true talent, and brother, these two quarterbacks are among some of the greatest talents to ever grace the game of football, and I would take either one of them at the helm of my team. I'm happy to have Mahomes lead my team, but don't get it twisted, games between these two could go either direction when both teams are at 100%. Mahomes does have the edge in the argument for playoff wins, but at that point, the coaches are just hoping the other team has a player that makes a mistake.

That’s revisionist history, and I was a big Peyton Manning fan back then. I was as elated when he finally got over the hump against them in the playoffs, as I would be with my own team (which is not the Colts- I was just a Peyton fan). And the reason for that elation is the total domination from the Pats in the first handful of years of that rivalry. Brady’s Pats won the first SIX games against Peyton & the Colts. That includes regular season games as well as two ugly playoff losses for the Colts. The Colts finally broke through in 2005, and ripped off 3 straight, including the 18 point comeback in the 2006 AFCCG that I alluded to earlier. From then on, it was more balanced, including Peyton winning their remaining career playoff matchups. But prior to that, the narrative that Peyton couldn’t win the big games, and especially couldn’t beat the Patriots, was all over the national media at the time. Allen’s Bills have been much more competitive in these first five years. It only took 2 losses before he got his first win against them (again, remember it took Peyton *six*) and he holds the regular season advantage. And the playoff games have mostly been super close, exciting games with dramatic finishes. Something Brady-Peyton was not, until the 2006 game.

Patrick Mahomes claims the game was stolen from them because of the call, but would it have been fair not to call it a penalty and steal it away from the bills when it was clearly lined up in the neutral zone. BIGGEST thing about the 13 second game that gets overlooked to keep it exciting, is the fact that Allen turned the ball over on downs 4 times against a mid-pack Chiefs Defense... While Mahomes only turned it over twice against the number 1 ranked defense, and Butker left 4 points on the field or there would have been no need for the 13 second drive or OT...
BUT at least the better team and QB still won the game, so leaving it out keeps the best game narrative going... Allen still hasn't beaten Mahomes in the playoffs, even with home field advantage, so Mahomes is still top QB... Just My Humble Opinion based on stats and facts...

As much as I enjoyed this discussion about the rivalry itself. I think you do need to put a little more emphasis on the regular season wins for Buffalo vs. the much more important playoff wins for Kansas City. It's gotten to the point where these regular season wins for Buffalo don't mean anything because they are always losing the playoff games, and that loss last year was really damaging to this rivalry. Bengals and Chiefs are more of a rivalry than Bills and Chiefs at this point.

The 13 second game both played great, the difference was Pat was facing the number one defense. Bills D was number one in points, number one in yards, number one in first downs, number one in passing yards, number one in passing touchdowns, and Patrick torched them. Chiefs D was 27th in yards, 24th in 1D, 27th in passing yards, 21st in rush yards, 31st in rush yards per attempt, and last in yards per drive. Chiefs best DB in their suspect secondary got hurt and never returned. Neither one of them turned the ball over, but the Bills had 4 failed drives, punted four times and the Chiefs only punted twice.
I really like Josh and I love watching him play, but Mahomes is next level best QB of all time and 3rd greatest.

But I'm also a fan of true talent, and brother, these two quarterbacks are among some of the greatest talents to ever grace the game of football, and I would take either one of them at the helm of my team. I'm happy to have Mahomes lead my team, but don't get it twisted, games between these two could go either direction when both teams are at 100%. Mahomes does have the edge in the argument for playoff wins, but at that point, the coaches are just hoping the other team has a player that makes a mistake.

It’s not a rivalry we know who wins every time… Peyton and Tom you didn’t know who would win same with the Ravens and Tom Brady.
That’s revisionist history, and I was a big Peyton Manning fan back then. I was as elated when he finally got over the hump against them in the playoffs, as I would be with my own team (which is not the Colts- I was just a Peyton fan). And the reason for that elation is the total domination from the Pats in the first handful of years of that rivalry. Brady’s Pats won the first SIX games against Peyton & the Colts. That includes regular season games as well as two ugly playoff losses for the Colts. The Colts finally broke through in 2005, and ripped off 3 straight, including the 18 point comeback in the 2006 AFCCG that I alluded to earlier. From then on, it was more balanced, including Peyton winning their remaining career playoff matchups. But prior to that, the narrative that Peyton couldn’t win the big games, and especially couldn’t beat the Patriots, was all over the national media at the time. Allen’s Bills have been much more competitive in these first five years. It only took 2 losses before he got his first win against them (again, remember it took Peyton *six*) and he holds the regular season advantage. And the playoff games have mostly been super close, exciting games with dramatic finishes. Something Brady-Peyton was not, until the 2006 game.
