@tonetn53: imho, Systematic is conscious and intentional, and can be adjusted, while Systemic is unconscious and instinctive, and may be beyond correction.
It seems odd that a man as precise as Ted Cruz asked "is the American justice system systematically racist?" when asking Ritz about his “there are structural barriers” statement from which Cruz could have assumed that Ritz believes the problem is systemic with, as Ritz replied here, an “unconscious bias that exists”. The short of it seems to be that Ritz does not believe in the system in it’s current form, and wants to 'fundamentally transform' it.
This gives free reign to justify any decision. Well I felt the person had subconscious bias. Go ahead and disprove that one.
Implicit biases are great! They are invisible, untrackable, undocumentable. You can't prove them,
which is great because no one can disprove them. So the person in question is guilty until proven
innocent, but, shazam, there is no way you can disprove implicit bias. Perfect!
If this doesn’t work out for him, he is a strong contender to be the Secretary Of Soy.

I watched CSpan 30 years ago, and you might’ve seen one gotcha moment once or twice a year. Now there are 15 gotchas in one hearing and nobody cares, perjury flying out shamelessly without a second thought, yet they still get confirmed. Our system is done.
