Absolutely love the Ananda Nano. The price to performance is crazy and easily could be priced higher. Treble can be much for some, but I find HD800s, DT1990 Pro to be brighter, on the Nano it can really bring some music to life. With a little eq and some tubes or a hybrid amp. It's a joy to listen. I personally like it over the Audeze LCD-X and Focal Clear MG.... Insane price to performance 😁

Hifiman should just use the Arya headband on all the egg shaped headphones. Great headphone, just doesn’t fit my head.

I love the suspension headband on the sundara and Ananda. I have a tiny head though. My Ananda is set as small as it will go

INTERESTING! Do we have a baby HE 1000 SE? (like mine "over there.") I don't really share the sound with other people because I don't want to get into a discussion about how much the HE 1000 SE cost, even today. Now if I can recommend these Anandas as sounding similar should the next person think its 'the best thing they ever heard and must have it' I might loosen up on sharing this sound. PLEASE, be specific as you're great at doing on the sound differences between the Ananda and HE 1000 SE. If its say. . . just a little less detail in the Ananda but retains the over all tonal balance, that'd be pretty amazing for $600.

The HE-1000Se is without a doubt better, but they do have a very similar sound, based on a very limited comparison.
I will try to do a more in-depth comparison, and maybe even do a video about it.

Hi, question on these, could you give a comparison of the Nano soundstage and instrument separation to other egg shape hifimans like the Edition XS or original Arya? Soundstage and separation is the main thing I’m looking for in my upgrade so knowing how close or ahead it would be in soundstage and separation to those two would be very helpful for me.

Curious if you heard the Meze 109 pro and if so how this compares against a traditional driver like that?

Arya Organic should have deep 3D soundstage, but is the soundstage of the Ananda Nano better in this regard than the Arya Stealth ? I don't want so much wide soundstage, but deep enough.

They have no reason to be as good as they are.

I owed Sundara, XS and Ananda and listened to Arya organic in the store but never liked their plastic kind of treble with no finesse. And never kept any Hifiman in my system to replace my Sennheiser 600 or 650.

I have the Sennheiser hd600 and the low end hifiman he400s. It's close between those two but the he400s has the clearer sound. Just lacking in sub bass, that's all. Hopefully, the Nano will fix that for me and I can then sell the other two.

Good afternoon! Tell me, how do Nano sound with a bunch of topping E50 and L50? Is the L50 amplifier enough for them in terms of power, does this amplifier reveal them? Is it worth taking an amplifier more expensive, will there be an increase? I want to take a bunch of E50 and L50, how do they sound with these nanos?
    THX!

I would consider the E50/L50 stack an excellent match for the NANO. It has more than enough power for the NANO, and actually does a respectable job driving the much more power hungry Susvara.

@@StarfTodd I haven't heard the A30 Pro. The L70 is a great amp, but I still think the E50/L50 stack is ideal for the Nano.
I've used the E50/L50 stack with almost every Hifiman headphone, including the HE1000SE and Susvara, and never felt disappointed

I just got them the other day (they are my very first Hifiman pair) and I was completely shocked and appalled by their treble. It's piercing sharp, shouty, and metallic and renders them totally unlistanable to my ears. Some people said they are bright, but this is not only bright but also peaky (which is confirmed by measurements, some show as many as 4 treble peaks) which results in an utterly unnatural and artificial sounding timbre, the kind of sound I would expect from a $30 pair or headphones, not $600. And no amount of EQ seems to be able to fix their tonality. My reference is hd6xx which have such an amazingly smooth and lush treble, while this in comparison feels like sticking needles into your ears. The sound is ugly at lower volumes and unbearable once you go even moderately loud. What's more I didn't find them perform technically any better than the hd6xx, neither in terms of soundstage, instrument placement or separation. Maybe they are slightly more detailed but it's hard to tell if it's not just the result of the boosted treble. The only thing they were able to do well is the bass (which is quite punchy and goes very deep without needing much EQ), but aside from that, I can't imagine anyone preferring them over the Sennheisers. I'm genuinely puzzled by the amount of praise that Hifiman regularly receives and I'm wondering what's going on here. Maybe they need some burn in, but I'm not gonna try because I'm returning them. My amp seems to be adequate enough as it's capable of driving very well the much more demanding hd6xxs. My only conclusion is that the majority of people's perception of tonal accuracy is skewed in some way (or maybe it's my perception). I listen a lot to classical music and can tell when the timbre of voices and instruments (particularly violin and brass) sounds off and unnatural and this is clearly the case. Maybe people are just wowed by the elevated treble which reveals details, and not noticing the completely unnatural timbre?

You are not alone in thinking that Hifiman treble is too bright. I'm guessing that your ears are just very sensitive to treble.
I on the other hand have always liked Hifiman treble. Maybe because of my age? I am much more sensitive to distorted bass. If the bass is bloated or muddy I get an almost instant head ache.

    • @Fafner888
      @Fafner888 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

@dphoneexperience-wil2250 Fair enough. Then how would you describe the treble on the hd6xx/650? Is it too dark or veiled for you taste in comparison to Hifiman? (btw I'm pretty young in my mid 30s so guess it's one of the reasons I would be more sensitive to treble)
