As a chinese I'm happy to see Blimey enjoying the raya atmosphere! It is almost same as CNY where we visit about 5-8 houses in one day and eat at every one of them 😆 juro is a tanker! Enjoy raya!
this year Raya is chaotic because everyone was so confident Raya is Selasa since it has been 20-30 years like that. I remember during childhood in 90s we prepared early on 29th Ramadan then wait in front of TV for Raya announcement together with whole family in Kampung. So Raya tomorrow or next day wont be much different. Selamat Hari Raya Blimey. Juro is a tanker. I salute her.
True. I was born in '93 so I didn't remember if any of this had happened before bcs I started fasting in 2000. But every year my parents always reminded us to prepare everything on the 29th of Ramadhan in fear of early Syawal but as far as I could remember it hadn't happened in the past decade or 2 so I was skeptical a bit every time. And lo and behold, it finally happened and glad we had everything prepared, just short on cooking ketupat. so it wasn't that chaotic for us as well.
You feel the 2 atmosphere of hari raya. Leona's home was quite crowded as you can see her extended family and some friends came to visit at the same time. Plus the meal being served was buffet style. Hani's home was much more relaxed as no one had came to visit yet so you can get personalised undivided attention from her family, learned the culture of asking/ giving forgiveness, making teh tarik, taking family photos in baju raya, go house visits and the best part was the food is already being served at the table. I think these will the most memorable event for your Malaysian trip.
As a mom, let me tell u why we dressed our family in similar color/tones, it’s because Malay families tend to be large in numbers and when they mingled in the crowds of family members, kinda hard to locate each members by face and yell their names (tend to be noisy when all people mingled). Moms will dress everyone in a color coded themes so it’s way easier to locate each members when it’s time to leave 😁
On Hari Raya Aidifitri, everybody make themselves looks pretty and goes visit their relatives and friends.. That is a must.. Wearing matching clothes with our family is very normal to us..
just a little context. Zahir means something tht you can see. in this context, something physically. Batin means something you cant see. for example your heart, soul etc. So the meaning of Maaf Zahir dan batin means you're asking forgiveness physically and spiritually (emotions related).
What the heck?? My friend told me Zahir means male n batin means female so maaf zahir dan batin meant as asking sorry for all mens and womens in the room... Bangang ko Farid... Nanti kau...
blimey you are very lucky to be with the malaysian family, the funny thing is your crew, can't stop eating even if the body is small, it's very funny, lol for your crew
I noticed Jade mention that u guys often travel in Air Asia.Just for info, Leona Grandpa - Dato Pahamin Rejab is also one of the co founder of the revitalize Air Asia and used to be their Chairman.I think I saw him on the table also in this video. His originated from Kelantan, hence the Kelantan style Chicken Rendang. I written this comment halfway into the videos (after Leona house part).
Selamat hari raya blimey....maaf zahir batin.... Every family has their own recipe for rendang and other food....so thats why we still can eat the same food all day because it has different taste....and for sure this is malaysia culture ...we can't stop eating because food is everything....🥰🥰
I think no one told you that as a muslim , we can’t touch any girl/boy if she/he not his family...and....I’m really shocked that no one talked about this on comments section...it’s HARAM to touch a girl or boy...like you know...I’m not angry...haha btw selamat hari rayaa -and sorry for my bad English~
Hani is such a kind and very sweet person.. she let the guest to experienced hari raya..😍 btw, dasol's side face features kinda look like jisoo blackpink🤭
When we go back to our hometown (balik kampung) for raya, normally the aunts & uncles houses are also nearby. It's normal to visit (beraya) 4, 6 houses in a day or even more. At times, only raya time we managed to visit them. Even if each house serves similar dish like rendang, you have to at least have a taste to honour them and it might even taste different as each family add their own twist to their rendang. Sometimes we visit each other houses in the same day like my family goes to my aunt's house in the morning and later in evening, my aunt's family visits us back eventhough we already met in the morning. This is a tradition of visiting (kunjung mengunjung) family & friends.
What a wholesome experience, especially the Salam moment really caught me out, it's the moment where we confess our past and wrongdoing to our families especially to our parents and hoping those will be forgiven and that's where the catchy words 0-0 or kosong2 came from to describe aidilfitri as a whole, it's about celebration of giving and forgiveness, sometimes u will watch a telenovela either it's has a sad soapy ending or bad ending as well 😂😂
Juro is like 4-D characters.... Like kim hyungjong from ss501... I hope i can see her more in future.. Very funny even she not doing anything... Hahahaha... Anyway selamat hari raya blimeys
If you eat more santan and letih...drink fresh oren...to stabil and healty...or air limau nipis....and sup daging pun...boleh perah atau minum air limau nipis ais atau suam nanti ok laaa
Selamat Hari Raya~! Just for Blimey information, woman and man can't shake hands (salam) each other. Only those that is related by blood or already wed to each other can salam. It's understandable that Blimey doesn't know about this, but we, muslim can't do that kind of action. I hope you enjoy your raya with us in Malaysia. In shaa Allah.
First house you ate nasi dagang Kelantan style Second house nasi hujan panas. 3rd lemang with ayam bakar ? 4th what I saw lontong and laksa..
As Malaysia is a multiracial country hence there are some interaction of cultural and customs among different races. The duit raya, balik kampung for reunion meals, the packing biscuits and also the fireworks firecrackers were basically influenced by Chinese culture customs which makes Hari Raya bustling with noise and excitement lively.

I really enjoyed watching the moments of four of you experiencing raya day and how chaotic Malaysian people in a hurry prepared foods and everything during the night 😂
In my family, when we visited many relatives houses, we would only eat a very small portion of food as a gesture, though the host will kind of force you to eat a lot it's just a courtesy to us. We're not complied to eat a lot and it's really up to us how much we want to eat. Also in Malay culture it's considered impolite to make your guests still feel hungry after leaving their place. It's like you're not treating them with the best of your effort when they visited you. So it's better to serve more food than less food. This is a delicate and unspoken part of Malay culture in Malaysia that's very natural to most Malay households. Anyway I'm so happy that you could experience Malaysian Hari Raya celebration. Family means a lot to us so if they welcome you to their house it means they genuinely appreciate your visit. 😍
As a Malaysian, i'm glad that all of you were enjoying the Hari Raya's Day 🥰 I've been watching this video but never thought that all of you guys were really fall in love with our culture and the foods! 😂 Thank you Jade, Hessi, Juro and Dasol 😍
