I was there in mid November of 2019, and it was awesome because there were only around 5 people, and I was standing at the Bright Angel Point for like 30 minutes, soaking in the view all for myself because there was nobody else around :) Such an awesome experience. I hope it never gets crowded.
The North Rim is open from around May (sometimes early June) after the snowmelt, until the first significant snowfall that can be end of October to November.

I love the North Rim. I worked at the lodge for four seasons. I was there during the 69-72 seasons. It is how I worked my through school. I hope most of my friends are still alive and doing very well. Always Jim the baker.

While my spouse and I have visited the South Rim several times, we had never been to the North Rim until early June 2024. I was incredibly impressed with the North Rim. As your video perfectly describes, the North Rim is the better rim.

Thank you for posting this video! I've been to both the north and south rims several times. They are both beautiful places to visit but yes, the north rim is the absolute BEST! When asked about the differences between the two, the easiest way for me to describe them is that the north rim is peaceful, tranquil and relaxing as where the south rim is more akin to a Disney attraction. Thank you, once again, for posting!!

Headed there today after going to both Bryce and Zion. Your videos have been invaluable! Also, your downloaded paid guides give great information and context to what we have seen. Everybody whose traveling here should buy them. Well worth the money. We bought the guides for all three this trip and for Yellowstone last year.

Just got back from North Rim, great campground to bad lodge, deli, showers were closed due to water line break should be back open July sometime. We walked all thru the campground and picked out sites we want to get. One thing if you have a van you want sites on the right so your door opens on the site, they would not let us turn around because if they need to evacuate park it is easier.

So when people say “easy” it makes me cringe when speaking of trails that hikers die on so frequently. Any trail where a hikers life can end with a slip of footing is not “easy”. To a person who’s heart races just to see in video, it’s terrifying…crippling. Definitely not easy, especially for someone with balance issues. Angels Point is a serious trail and should be considered as such. Thank God I watched a 4k version of the full trail.
Great info other than trail info.
