great film, Charlie Bronson, Lee Marvin and jack Wardens film debuts. Unfortunately the film froze at about 47 mins and was out of sync with the sound after.
I joined the Navy in 1979 and got stationed t Little Creek, but we were always going to NOB for some class or something. The scene at 4:16 where she drops him off, the ship in the background is the U.S.S. VULCAN AR-5. And she served in WW2.
Jack Warden served in the Navy in China in the years before WW2. Eddie Albert was an officer in the navy during the war and received the Bronze Star for heroism at Tarawa. Lee Marvin was in the Marines and received the Purple Heart for wounds received on Saipan.
At about 45:24 the film locks up and then after that the video and audio are off tracking. I would like to see the rest of this movie in tact if it can be fixed. Thanks for posting this one.
Hmmm, wasn't this remade as "The Wackiest Ship in the Navy" starring Jack Lemon and Ricky Nelson with the ship being a sailing vessel instead of an experimental steam powered vessel? Yep, but not quite as stupid, especially when the audio went out of sync with the video.
He was an enlisted man when he was in the Coast Guard. He got out of the CG in 1943 to join the Navy. He held an officer's rank in the Naval Reserve, not the Coast Guard.
Engine trouble here, sound out of sync from about 46.50. Meanwhile some compensation, the steam engine not invented by James Wyatt😉as stated in this movie. In 1698 Thomas Savery patented a pump with hand-operated valves to raise water from mines by suction produced by condensing steam. The first commercially successful engine that could transmit continuous power to a machine was developed in 1712 by another Englishman, Thomas Newcomen. Richard Trevithick in Cornwall, England is the true inventor of the locomotive. He was the first to use a steam carriage on a railway; in 1803 he built a steam locomotive to settle a bet, that in February 1804 made a successful run on a horsecar route in Wales. Watt steam engine, steam engine invented by Scottish engineer James Watt in 1769. The Watt steam engine is considered the first truly efficient steam engine.🙂The development of the modern locomotive, the famous Rocket (or Fusée , 1829), which would serve as a model, is rightfully due to George and Robert Stephenson.👏
The engineering concept of this premise seems not very thermodynamically sound. Bring in new salt water and distill out salt to use in boiler???? Why not use cold sea water to condense spent steam in a closed system??? That is what Titanic did. So did White steam cars in the 20's ( with a condenser like radiator on front). They would be using a huge amount of fuel to boil off water to make distilled water up front - and then boil again for steam.

Well if it's a Navy comedy they seceded in that because that is not the way they handle portside problems from the port Commander the duty watch officer usually reports did the skipper of that ship to convey written orders from the port Commander when and where he's supposed to get underway the specific orders from higher up usually the fleet command so that's all bulshit
This movie is hopeless. Don't bother watching it. From about half way through, the sound track was chopped up and the pieces reinserted in random order, so it doesn't correlate with the visual and it is near impossible to work out what is going on.
@@CrazyBob1357 Whether or not I can do better is not relevant. What is relevant is that a defective product is defective. it doesn't matter whether its a new toaster that won't toast, an engine that won't run smoothly, or an uploaded film on YT that won't play properly.
I served 20 years in the US Navy as a Chief Boiler Technician when I retired, I laugh so hard, and very Thankful, I never experienced this!
Have You😂 seen Charles Bronson, too.
Thank you for your service.
@@alexmares2984 C.Bronson Is A Actor in this Movie. He Was Not in The Navy F.Y.I.
Nice. Too bad the sound track separated from the film track half way through.

Thank you for letting us know before we invested the time to be disappointed half way thru. 👍🏻
Loved the aFilm and selection of actors: Thank you for choosing it.
Thanks for sharing this movie with us!
Lee Marvin and Charles Bronson in their extra WW2 role.
Bonus in this film; a young Lee Marvin and Charles Bronson are in the crew!
Love the old movies
But I really did like the fact that the ship's whistle exploded all over the port Commander that's hilarious

I served '75-95 if I remember right AR-5 was the first ship to have females aboard, thus called "The Love Boat!"
Very good film except after freeze the audio was out of sync which made not very enjoyable in the last part. Would like to see it after it is fixed.
I concur!

sound track is off big time
I’m an airplane guy but surface and submarines have got me watching learning
Movie froze and then out of sync about halfway through. Please correct!
Starting @45:40 there is a pause in the video but not the audio and then @46:00 the whole audio is off time with the film. 😖
Enthalpy and entropy. Can't get more out of it than you put in it

Chas Bronson is here, too, as well as Jack Warden and several others.

Broke his leg on a night practice jump just before

a lousy upload.
At 45:37 the audio goes out of sync.
And that sounds better than the film
The video freezes up at 45:36. After that point the video and audio do not sync for the remaining movie.
Good film, but be advised that film becomes unwatchable at the 45:37 mark . after that there is a several second delay of the video from the audio.
Don't watch it. The audio goes out of sync around 50 minutes - a waste of time.
Too bad the controller didn’t have Turkish 11 reduce to minimum speed as soon as he checked in with the tower?

No remake. 2 completely different Navy comedies.
It's funny to see Eddie Albert who was a LTC in the Coast Guard playing an LTJG.
He was an enlisted man when he was in the Coast Guard. He got out of the CG in 1943 to join the Navy. He held an officer's rank in the Naval Reserve, not the Coast Guard.
A descent movie, would've been better if the audio matched the video.
With Charles Bronson, nice!😂

Half way through the sound track is screwed up and over dubbed, etc.
You forgot mentioning the young Eddie Albert.
*AUDIO SKEW HALF WAY... A SHAME good movie!!!*
Good Movie, but halfway through the sound and video went out of sync and did not correct by the end of the movie
you need to re-load this movie and fix up the sound track.
ITS UNWATCHABLE AS IT IS NOW
Leave it to TH-cam to screw something up that people like or enjoy.

The movie is not too old & I’m 75 years of age. Well I hear it is still out of sync.
Sound for movie is out of since

Fix the sync between film and sound
Too bad the sound goes agley at about 45:00
To bad its out of sync its a great movie
The movie is worn out ! Freezes up!! Sound stops ! Sound doesn't match actions ??
To bad the film and the sound track were as broken as the steam engine
OK it wasn’t just me that noticed that
Out of sync. Big disappointment!

I agree,
sound out of sync
I’m unable to watch the rest of this movie because of the sync loss causing dizziness from an old accident.
Move unsatisfactory..locks up,not playing...
Movie crap
Nothing better then an old school black and white navel movie.
a belly button movie? Perhaps you mean a naval movie.....
Was Jane Greer married to Mr Greer who also was an actor. Became Grandpa on The Waltons. ???
Wayne Newton?
Do STEAM engines SMOKE??
Now remember only the officers could touch the women in the Navy at that time. All enlisted men would be shot for even thinking of one.
He loks like her father.
Un-watchable. the effed-up soundtrack halfway through the film ruins it. Too bad too I was enjoying it.

Bad section in the middle of video. Dont recommend this one.
Married men away for lengthy
Sea voyages leaving wife at home
Maybe should be a rule
Single men only in navy
I know a lot of men in the fleet that have been married. And their wives have been faithful to them
But are the men faithful!
As the saying goes
A girl.in every port!
Sure was a disappointment, I turned it off..
Fix it

This is posted on a different channel with clearer video and no audio problems.
Halfway through, the audio gets out of sync with the video about 30 seconds. Impossible to follow after that.
