Why doesn't their government encourage family planning (birth control). Is it because the religion forbid it? Do they follow the hard/conservative/ radical Islam?
having many children in a poor country is like a life insurrence for the parents. when they get old they don't have a government pension they can live of like in many rich countries. this leads to high birthrates so the children can care for the parents. this isn't necessary a islam thing. it's just how poor countries work. If Niger would get richer and more educated the child birth would also go down drastically.
