Jim Barker is my cousin. When I attended the Barker's christening in Cleveland, they had the John Sherwin on hand (at the time the Interlake flagship) and as I recall, she also had a two tone horn. I suspect cousin Jimmie noticed this. Still the best horn on the lakes...
@VibeWithMike has measured the barkerbarks to 129db, from the peer. That is some Motörhead crazy level of sound. Give or take some decibels for distance, they should be around 150-160db at the bell, enough to drown the sound of an airliner taking off or make a top fuel drag car sound like a kitten. But if that is the case, what impresses me the most is that microphone not caving in.
@@K100e well, I know you've never heard a top fuel car in real life !! LOL they're WAY WAY WAYYYYYYYYYYYY louder than the Barker's horns.. No matter how close you are to them.
Brought tears to my eyes!! Hearing that made me miss my nautical days.
Man I get the willies every time I hear that horn.
Probably empties their compressor lol
wow its been over a year since I logged into this account, kinda forgot about it. thanks for taking the time to watch this video folks
Barker Is riding High😊 Great Horn Show😊
Got this in my feed just now, probably because Bob Barker, of The Price Is Right, just died, and YT's algorithm doesn't know the difference.
RIP Bob.
This captain loves his horn as much as ed Dickinson does on 4014

This sequence is called "The Master Salut".
Totally Epic!
It's rapidly becoming a bucket-list entry to go see the JRB, and the PRT, in the Duluth channel.
We got to see both this past weekend. What a treat!!!
Tons of people come to see this ship. What a sound. 👍
