Dude; money shot from 0:00 to 1:22. The way her “rear” swings around and looks like little movement from the bow🙂 I like hearing the crowd cheering. Hope Captain Newland has a good vacation
Wow, the best horn on the lakes is right! Thank you for the great radio traffic too, it adds so much to be able to hear what those men are saying to one another. It's amazing to think it's almost August ~ what a summer it's been!
From Deb…EPIC!! The Barker is so broad as viewed especially from the back. I would be stuck up proud to work on that ship with that fab horn. Wonder why none of the other ships I’ve seen on the lake don’t have that two tone deep base? Thanks again!
Look at all the crew out on deck. They know the crowd loves their ship. Captain Newland has been coming out of the pilot house quite often at Rotary Park in the Soo to wave to the crowds. . 😊
So, is the delay of the lower horn because it or its machinery is so massive that it takes longer for the air to get through the horn or its mechanism?
@@1Long2Short So, I talked to a friend of mine at church, today. He knows a lot about machinery, whistles, horns, and pipe organs. He says that pipe organs experience the same phenomenon with their large pipes: when the console key is pressed, there is a delay in the sound because it takes longer to fill the pipe with enough air to make the sound at whatever pitch it's supposed to make. It's a pretty safe bet that the same thing is happening with this huge lower-pitch horn. . .
Best horn blast on the lakes by far!!!
Definitely a bucket list for me
Need to hear that once in awhile! Summers going too fast, we need more of those!!😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Yes, summer is going by too quickly!
Great video of the James R Barker. The Barker has a double tone. Very much enjoyed.
Thank you kindly!
I like how the bridge made their horn blow longer
NEVER GETS OLD!!!!! Thanks for the video!!!! Have a great summer vacation, Capt Newland!
That right there is the mark of someone who loves his job and goes to work with a smile on his face.
Wow!!!! I have to say the is the best Captain's Salute I ever heard! Love that foghorn!!!!
That was a Master's Salute - three long, two short
@@audreyjohnson4599 Thank you

Well, she's making a turn to line up for the bridge and canal. Naturally her stern would swing.
Figured we wouldn’t waste any time getting to the money shot. Oh, and I was late getting to the piers. 😁
Beautiful day, beautiful water, great shots, and love the James R salutes❤❤❤ thank you, can't wait for Sept !
Thanks Carol! 🙂

Listen to that all day!
One of the greatest videos of this I've seen in a while. Missed my last trip north to see her. Hoping next month!
Hope you can see her before summer is over!
Love the barker bark

In a way, I’m kind of glad only one ship has horn setup. Makes it seem all the more special when you finally get to hear it in person. 🙂
Compressor was working Overtime on that Salute!!
Sure is a feel good posting. And good to see how excited the visitors are.
Great capture and horn
Wow el sonido del la corneta del barco es impresionante 😮😮
The Barker bark! Love it!❤
Can’t go wrong with the JRB as the star of the production. Fantastic piece.
Love the ship
I love that foghorn
Heading out in style! I don't know if I'd want to come back to work after a month off, but that's me. Guess it comes with the territory.
How about two months off? 😉
Crowd favorite ❤
Beautiful day for it. Love the Barker bark. Thanks
Safe sailing and God Bless

Mighty James Barker, come blow your horn.
you sure don’t want to hear that, if you’re broke down in the channel!
Astaga itu kapal bener bener panjang bangett ketika suara klakson terompet nya bunyi Serasa suasana makin mencekam raksasa mau lewat keren 👍👍
So, is the delay of the lower horn because it or its machinery is so massive that it takes longer for the air to get through the horn or its mechanism?
From what I read, they don’t know the exact reason for the delay. But your theory could certainly be plausible. 🙂
@1Long2Short Thanks! Inquiring minds want to know. . .
