It’s insane. It’s literally 4 times more expensive in my country than it was last year. I’m thinking seriously hard about whether it’s worth it all for a new story mode...

    • @TheStargov
      @TheStargov 3 ปีที่แล้ว

@Amarok for where you live maybe. They changed the regional pricing, so it's the exact same price through conversion rates. So it will be more expensive in some areas than it was last year.

@Amarok but the prices of things all relate to the local economy. Thats why bussiness DONT have things cost the same all over the world, because whats normal in one country is ridiculously expensive in another. If the average wage is on £5 a day in a country, then paying £50 for a game is ridiculous. Whereas if the average wage is £80 in a country then paying £50 for a game is more acceptable. You sound like you're about 10 years old and have no idea that the world outside of your country even exists.

Overall, the game quality will drop and even if you buy all the 'in-game' items, you'll still have less of a game than the predecessors. Welcome to EA business model (see Fifa and Madden for more info).

    My take on F1 2021:
Classic cars are the biggest omission from this game. They simply could have been carried over, since the models are pretty much done already, as they were in F1 2020.
The damage model needs to mimic the real F1 cars more. I think it gives more of a challenge to the player, and can give an even more realistic experience than it is now.
Instead of releasing an entirely new game, Codemasters should have made this an expansion pack for F1 2020, as it would seem like less of a money grab, and players wouldn’t have to shell out a lot more cash for a “new” game. It’s essentially F1 2015 with the new cars, updated menus, and snazzy features.
Feel free to comment whether or not you agree with me. :)

I might be able to give my experience. I got the game today and played it, the pc graphics looked a lot less “plastic” compared to 2020, and the car itself actually looked like it interacted with light. With my wheel (g29) they fixed the pedal problems they had before where it was pretty much impossible to hit 100 percent braking. The force feedback felt similar to 2020 but things like going on the gravel and curbs seem to have a better force feedback and also no longer instantly spins you around. The handling feels much better granted it is harder to drive, and you are actually rewarded for doing things like turning the wheel slowly and as little as possible, and the car no longer under steers like crazy if you over turn the wheel. Overall I would recommend it over 2020 and wouldn’t really call it just a “reskin”. The online multiplayer career which I tried with one of my friends also turned out to be not too bad. It just feels like whoever wrote this video did it before playing the game and comparing the two, but rather just based it on the list of obvious features, and released it on the early released date to farm views.

Braking Point takes me 8h to finish and that's it what the game offers. Sure I'd love to race on 24 race tracks but not with today's F1. F2 is great because it's that competetive and Classic- idk what to say, these cars were beautiful and amazing, everything F1 today is not.
Why can't they create another F1 game "F1 Classic" where they put in some legandary tracks, e.g. Hockenheim. Even a modern F1 game would be awesome if these points are inclueded:
    -F1 from the season
-F2 from the season and before
    -maybe F3

Watching devs treating fans of physical media as lesser value customers whilst the industry literally attempts to kill off high street game retail by incentivising digital products is very disappointing. EA or not, £75 is insanity for a digital product when we at least got a steelbook for the highest-priced pre-order in previous years and this time they've even ditched the classic content too! 18,000 of a made-up currency that isn't even transferable between titles? It's pure corporate greed, plain and simple and I've always loved and defended this series in the past. Underwhelmed and disappointed by this years offering, once those new tracks get released, the inevitable bugs have been ironed out and the price has been lowered I'm sure it'll be worth it, but until then I'll happily play the earlier titles, especially F1 2019 where you could race the 1970s-early 80s classic cars before they were junked!

Ignore these negative nancies. They complain every year a new F1 game comes out and then when it turns out to be great they backtrack. Most can't buy the game themselves and just want to complain. Codies add new features year on year but each time they find one or two things that aren't there and moan about it. Now they're crying about EA when in reality nothing has changed about the game and Codies still have full independence in making it, just with more money now. They could make the best game in existence and these people would still find something to complain about. ignore them and just enjoy your game experience.

    nice review.
And good of you to not burn the game for cutting out some stuff and not taking the story of breaking point to serious.
To me Breaking point is one of the most fun story based racing experiences I have had since, I think, Need for Speed Most Wanted.
The story takes big inspiration of the Drive To Survive series on Netflix and tbh, I love it.
They take all the problems Haas, Ferrari and williams and put them in a really nicely worked out story.
The way you go into F1 as Aiden just as you would expect when watching the F2 and F1 as casual spectator.
The drama behind the scene is really nice as well.
Some people say the characters are really not interesting at all but to me I was in it right away.
It was a surprise that Casper was Dutch though XD didn't know that haha.
I do feel that this game doesn't need the amount of choices you are referring to.
When racing I know there is a lot of stuff that could happen and a lot of ways things can go.
But the story of this game is setup up to follow the story of Aiden going into F1.
So Codemasters wants to tell you a story, not let you decide what the story will be.
Look at The Last of Us as example of no player choice in the story.
Linear stories I often enjoy the most, they don't have to overcomplicate things and can just tell you what you need to know and see.
Granted that makes replaying the story a lot less fun.
But as I stated, this game doesn't need that imo.
The story as far as I played is a great way to just enjoy some racing and drive you to the next race.
Often with F1 games I was getting bored after doing 3 training sessions, a qualifying, the race and repeat.
Not that it is a surprising way to play the game as that is what happens, but this story pulls you in a bit more.
I keep wondering "what is happening when I get by Casper?", or, "Will X do this after the race?".
Really well done for a first try.
The classic cars I respect and love to look at but I never drove those anyways, so don't miss those at all.
The short circuit's are not my cup of tea either as I rather drive the full circuit's which is a lot more fun for me.
As you said, the opinion of the game will be mostly based on the previous few games and what you liked there that is gone here.
On the graphics part, i think there is to much focus on how the game looks.
The game already looks fantastic and on the car itself there is little to be improved.
The world around the track is also improved a little but when driving at 300 on the straights you don't look much around you except for the track.
The VR is fun and all but I think there is a definite decision to not include it yet.
Codemasters has said in the past that the game will feature VR in the future but not when. So we just have to wait.
All in all I think this game is a really good step up from the last game.
The Breaking point story works really well to just have some fun and drama in between the races.
The My Team is turned up a little with new options and choices.
I'm happy but can understand some might see this differently
PS > Pitstops look WAAAAAAAY better now.
No more insta 90 degree turns in and out of the pit.
    that was my biggest complaint.
Everything looked so nice and realistic but getting a pitstop looks weird and unpolished

one thing I think that is overlooked is the extra options on the career mode making it harder or easier to earn resource ponits etc and also safety car chance and reliability. The resource points rate has always made it so easy for you to climb a team from the bottom to the top of f1 in a season which is why I disliked my team mode cause you could reach the top in a season and a half so there is little reason to play after a second season. They are making the game more and more into a sandbox meaning you the player gats to choose how to enjoy the game.

I liked it for a first try, definitely not perfect though. I’d like to see a continuation and for them to improve it. But I like the improvements to my team career mode and the handling and physics, it makes it more realistic. I don’t particularly care that the rear wing doesn’t fall off because you’re never really in that situation. The damage is pretty good, what I will say is that sometimes damage doesn’t show up on the graph thing and nobody says anything but you can feel something but nothing pops up and your team doesn’t do anything. Or sometimes nothing shows up and you don’t feel anything but your team changes your front wing anyways, ruining your race. There’s definitely some bugs that hopefully will be ironed out and I’d like to see the new tracks put in. I’d also like to see them just add the tracks like Vietnam, China, Mugello, Nurburgring, Hockenheim, Portimao, Imola, Turkey, etc. I know they will add Imola and stuff in a free update but I’d like to just have the others in the game even if you can’t use it in the career mode but just to have them in the game to play in multiplayer matches or single player offline.

Just a thought: As the F1 games have a development cycle of around 2 years, I think it's possible that development of F1 2021 was started with the new regulations in mind. As they got pushed back a year probably most of the work put into F1 2021 maybe was as well. So I'm not really surprised that this game is a gap filler to next years game.
