Those beautiful gowns were for her shows. Off stage and at her home on her ranch, she wore jeans and boots, and wasn't afraid to put one of those boots in your rear end if you crossed the line.

The last song she wrote for her husband Doo was Wouldn't It Be Great. Then, after his passing, she did I Can't Hear The Music...one you will definitely need tissues for! OMG, I felt soooo bad for her, losing the one true love she would ever have in her entire life.

One day she went in to get her hair done and a new girl was working. The girl said she was so nervous to do her hair. She asked Loretta how she wanted it and Loretta told her, oh honey just rat it to hell and jack it up to Jesus. Big hair was important to country women singers.

Loretta was 86 when she did Ruby's Stool. she always had the fire in her. Loretta had a soft side too. You she react to Dear Uncle Sam or God Bless America Again!
Miss Loretta was sweet as could be but also a bad ass, she was no shrinking violet. If you want to hear a real sweet side of Loretta and one of her last recordings try "Ain't No Time To Go" it's just beautiful, andeven more so because most people kind of knew that album would be her last.

Now please go listen to the tribute to "Fist City" by Chapel Hart called "Welcome to Fist City". Chapel heart got America's attention on AGT last year when they sang "You can have him Jolene" a nod to Dolly Parton's song Jolene. It got Dolly's attention, and it also got Loretta's attention and Loretta tweeted she would love to see what those girls could do with one of her songs. Well, they've done it and I know Miss Loretta would be so proud! It's called Welcome to Fist City by Chapel Hart. They are a refreshing sound in country music and bringing much needed ethnic diversity to the genre!

Loretta's first song she wrote was Honky Tonk Girl way back in the mid 50s. She has probably had over 50 hits over 4 decades.
She had a career that spanned over 6 decades, released over 280 songs, had 76 songs to chart, 24 #1 Singles and 11 #1 Albums. First Female Country Music Artist to have a gold record. Her sister Crystal Gayle was the first Female Country Music Artist to sell platinum. Loretta toured 57 years before her health forced her to stop. But, she continued to write and record songs until she died at 90. She was in the middle of a 5 album deal. Her motto: Never Quit Working. Never Retire.
She still has 3,000 songs written that haven't been recorded.
She is from the hills of Kentucky and we don't take to people messing with your man
