There hasn't been an English Monarch since 1707. The Scottish throne became the throne of Great Britain which is where our current Kings heritage is from.

I love Henry V 1989, Kenneth Branagh delivers some of the best lines of Shakespeare, though I have to say Heston does an awesome job with Brutus, and ofc the movie Coriolanus 2011 is amazing performances too. Oof but there is something just so charming about Henry V that makes you want to root for him, which is brought very nicely to life in Henry V 1989 but also in this documentary have made me appreciate Henry V even more, his chivalorous nature and merciful conduct of warfare and politics is something worth for all of humanity to embrace and will remain his timeless legacy, thanks for making this video, love this channel.
I think one great monarch that doesn't get sufficient recognition is King Edward V11. By the time he died in 1910, due to his skilful diplomacy he was well on the way to placating the Kaiser (his nephew) and bringing France, Germany, and Russia to a more understanding position. If he had lived another ten years it is unlikely there would have been a First World War and as a result no rise in fascism.
England's greatest Kings lived and died during the Middle Ages. There hasn't been an ethnically English monarch since before the Conquest before the Bastard from Normandy usurped and subverted the kingship.
