You know, for a guy who keeps on having different version of himself come back to defeat a greater evil, the goddesses sure really didn't want Link to be too good at the job.
Link is never a chosen one in the games. He is always some random schmuck who proves himself to be the legendary hero through his deeds, he is not born blessed or chosen by divinity or anything.

If I am not mistaken, Pole Vaulting used to be used as a technique to traverse swampy areas. That's why it kind of makes sense that villager uses a pole to get past short rivers. Edit: Spelling Errors Edit: I was wrong. It was originally used to traverse obstacles like walls and stuff during wartime, as the comment below says. I was messing it up with how farmers used them. Farmers used them to cross rivers and streams, so for them, it was more of a distance thing rather than a height thing, which is kind of neat

London 2012 Olympics for the Xbox 360 was a huge video game in the UK at the time for obvious reasons and the fact that this is basically a tribute video to that game but in Zelda with editing to match the old game went completely over Coneys head
I agree with Coney, nothing in the Olympic rules says double jumping is illegal.
However, it does say flipping is illegal, and Link's double jump is a flip. Alucard would have had this no problem, though.
